It rolls the car much much further then normal. It turns the engine off when possible. And when it rolls it works on battery power, not a hybrid system but the ignition battery.

@Enver Demirovic hmmm but 3.0tdi doesnt have battery like hybrids) so very interesting. as well as i still dont understand the main function of Efficiency driving mode and for example, a7 3.0tdi doesn't have this mode, but a6 3.0 tdi does

Oh that. That means the car moves without any throttle, so the car is basically working on the battery power.

Only the dry clutch version <200Nm had problems, all other types are very solid quality wise and can provide some of the smoothest and fastest gear changes around, upshift time is around 6ms.

I have a 2004 Ford Falcon Sedan Australia . 6 cylinder. N/A 4litre Barra Engine. Automatic Transmission with lockup over 80 KLM. Just completed a Highway Drive where I travelled 708 KLM and used 55 litres for the whole trip. Two occupants..light luggage.. cruise control..driving from 60 KLM through towns to 120 KLM on freeway. I have washable UNI filter.. Hiclone manifold swirl device non moving.. platinum plugs.. running on 98 octane. Pretty economic for a big straight six. That's 35 mpg

Great video. I have the previous generation model (also 3.0 TDI Quattro) and the best I can get out of it is around 6.7l/100 at around 120. Will be upgrading at some point but good to see it'll actually save me fuel as well.

Charles Macgilchrist Energy consumption is always higher if you have to accelerate often... Energy from a moving car is 1/2mass x (velocity x velocity).... You always have to pump Energy in the system to accelerate a mass... Electro car same as fuel.... The e engine is only more efficient

Yes all cars use more fuel when city driving due to stop/start traffic and being in lower gears most of time.
