It may look significantly different than its predecessor, but the latest Jeep Cherokee still manages to pack in the features that made the original a classic.

The 2017 Jeep Cherokee Latitude bears the name of the go-anywhere compact SUV that was the gold standard for the segment for over 30 years. This year's Cherokee features over 8 trim levels to choose from, including the Latitude, which can be seen here.

This Cherokee has a 3.2-liter V6 engine that puts out a healthy 271-horsepower and 239-lbft of torque. The engine has variable valve timing, electronic start-top capability, and is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The AWD system is equally impressive, making it easy to crawl into and out of trouble in the Cherokee.

The 2017 Jeep Cherokee Latitude has a traction management system with 4 driving modes and a remote tailgate lift. Test drive one at your convenience at your nearby AutoNation Jeep dealership [www.autonation.com].

I bought this jeep 6 months ago, terrible in snow or rain,if you have a tire that is low on air,the jeep will swerve, and it has terrible power acceleration for a v6,never go long distance, not dependable!

The Cherokee is by far the best in it's class.
      .......
It has more ground clearance, a superior AWD system, and
a real transmission unstead of a minibike CVT.

I'M EATING MY WORDS, FROM A YEAR AGO. I purchased a 2018 Cherokee 4x4 Latitude in May 2018. Soo excited to take it up to the Mountain... I WAS Soo disappointed!! when I really needed the 4x4 to count, I was left stranded 3 times, on different occasions! The Reason, if you are stuck & put it in park u loose the 4x4 engagement! Once you have taken it out of gear, you will not get it back until you are able to get traction again. NOT A 4X4! Good for Around Town. Also, U CAN NOT PUT CHAINS ON THIS VEHICLE, NO CLEARANCE. We traded ours 6 months later for my 2018 Jeep Laredo 4x4. Haven't gotten stuck yet!

The Cherokee is a urban 4x4.
Although i have taken mine in some pretty challenging off road areas, you need to understand it's limits and stay within them

OK you went bogus right away when you identified the Jeep Liberty as the Cherokee and never mentioned that original Cherokee which dominated its class for about 18 years.  Wow.

The Liberty was called the Cherokee everywhere except America and the Liberty was the best selling csuv until they redesigned it so poorly.

My wife and I purchased one two years ago and we love it. Had to Uhaul a good size trailer from FL up here to Carolina and it was excellent. Almost forget you’re towing at times. Even getting back on the HWY via on ramps after pit stops it never felt out of breath with the Pentastar engine. The 4x4 works great when we do get a bit of snow up here. All in all it’s perfect for what we needed.

Jc H that's a matter of opinion. I've driven several different SUV's in the market and this was the best for what it offered...yes there was a couple that were better ,but for a higher price than what I paid for this Jeep. Sorry you got a bad one, or that you feel they are bad.
