Dumb question: does it look like the drill press drive is out-of-round? That is, the chuck and drill bit shake while turning. Is that due to a worn bearing, or an imported drill press of dubious quality? I'm not sure I've ever seen that before in a drill press.

Try using a two-liter bottle with a tiny hole in the side to produce a thin constant water stream sitting beside the drill. I saw that trick on another you-tube video but I can’t find it. Sorry, no link. When I find it, I’ll post the link.

Thanks for this video, it was the first one I saw a while back on the subject of drilling glass.
I've since seen a good method where the water is kept flowing on the drill bit by putting a pin hole in a plastic bottle and using the cap to adjust flow. They used a plastic box for the whole setup to keep Mess down, but I hope this alternative technique helps.

If you use a drill with a tiny drill bit and constantly use a spray bottle you can do the same thing while going up bit sizes. Yours is cooler

This is so cool! Here's an application NOT related to bongs: I envision using this process to create some really cool glass holders for air plants, combined with some quality walnut or zebrawood as a base.

Your bottle jig was all wrong. The bottle needs to be angled at 65° when drilling. This will ensure the rubber grommet seats and eliminating any airflow to ceeate the optimum smoking pleasuer. Also, add your favorite candy flavoring or disolve jolly ranchers in the water but that's on your wife's channel Patsy's How To Flavor Your New Coke Bong Water

The hole had a really rough cut. Too much pressure from the drill press. And why is the drill turning counter-clockwise?
