Last night Ford Motor Company debuted the All-New 2020 Ford Explorer to the world! We have a lot to cover in a short amount of time, so put your seat belt on! This is the new 2020 Ford Explorer!

This is a complete redesign of the new Ford Explorer, the first time in 9 years! Ford Motor Company seems to be very excited that new Explorer sits on on a Rear Wheel Drive Platform. They are claiming that this setup will give you better driving dynamics, more cargo space and more space for passengers. Ford will also allow you to spec the new Explorer with an available intelligent four-wheel drive system that has a Terrain Management System™ with seven different drive modes

Engine options this time around are very interesting. The vehicle comes standard with a 2.3L 4-cylinder ecoboost mated to the all new 10-speed automatic transmission. By the way, the Explorer is also going to the Rotary Gear Shift Dial.

Powertrain offerings include a 3.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost® V6 making 365 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque, that'll make this the most powerful Explorer ever. I feel like Ford is holding back some details of some of their other engine options because they are now going to offer the Explorer in a Limited Hybrid as well as an "ST" trim level. For reference, the 2020 Lincoln Aviator is built on the same platform as this new Explorer, and the aviator will have a 3.0L Hybrid making 450 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque! The Explorer is projected to tow 5,000 lbs.

The Explorer's Lineup will now be "standard", XLT, Limited, Limited Hybrid, ST and the Platinum model.

The new Explorer will have a starting price of only $400 more than the current explorer.... but keep in mind the new explorer will have more than a dozen new standard features than the previous generation... Just to name a few of those standard features, you'll get a power liftgate, the 10 speed transmission we just talked about, an 8-inch digital touch screen with SYNC® 3, and FordPass Connect™ Wi-Fi service!

The interior has been redesigned from the ground up as well. It is now much more modern in appearance and technology. The Explorer will have an available 10.1" touchscreen in the dash board. It is mounted portrait mode so you can view your maps in full screen or you can split the screen with other functions such as the radio. This touchscreen now has capacitive glass which is what people have gotten used to just like most smart phones. This new system talks with the available 12.3" digital instrument cluster. As expected, the Sync system has the integration with Alexa, so you can control your smart home with the sound of your voice while driving down the road!

The premium audio system this time around is designed by B&O - it has 14 Speakers and 980 watts of power!

The Ford Explorer also has Adaptive Noise Cancellation! This technology works just like your Bose Headphones.... Cancelling out exterior noises, which makes this the most quiet interior ever in a Ford.

Ford has enhanced the Blind Spot Information System so that it now covers vehicles in the blind spot of your trailer!

Adaptive Cruise Control now has the ability to completely come to a stop. Even more, the Explorer is smart enough to read the speed limit signs, and adjust your speed accordingly.

Lane Centering. It is also smart enough to detect a large vehicle in the lane next to you, and just like a human would do.... the vehicle moves over in the lane to give you more room.

I have owned probably 100 cars in my life and some very nice cars along with basic and even some junk. I got a 17 Limited Ford Explorer and I have to say that it is probably my favorite vehicle I have ever owned. The thing drives incredible, great in the snow and just all that goes with it. Just super comfortable to drive. I traded from a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and the Explorer is so much better. The best thing is the Explorer is getting better and better!! Love it!

I am very happy they are returning to a RWD design. I don't know what they were thinking when they decided to make the Explorer FWD. Big mistake! Also, after, 2011, the styling was total garbage! They did tone it down a few years later, and that was better. I really wish they would revive older styling. The 2006-2009 was very nice looking. It was modern, but it still looked like an Explorer.

I love my 2004 Explorer. It's worth keeping-up. No new Explorer has a V8, and I don't care how many ponies are under the hood, 8 is the perfect number of cylinders. While I'm a huge fan of the antiquated Cologne V6, I love my V8. I love the excellent engine-braking qualities. I love the sound of the engine!

I have a 2002 Ford Exploder Sport, love that machine! I'm a simple man, All I need is the radio, four wheels and a seat. That's why I don't think I'll ever get one of these modern fancy machines that aren't tried and true.

Little know fact the Ford Explorer shares chassis and design with Range Rover and Lincoln. The exterior is sexy and sleek the interior with that glued tablet on the dash looks horrid horrible complete after thought even Kia/Hyundai wouldn’t make that mistake.

The more they put on this vehicle, the more things you will have to fix once it starts having issues.

The grill and front fascia sucks a major disappointment ( headlights sticking into the grill ugh, taillights look like someone stuck on some lego blocks) I love the overall design, stance and baby Rover DNA. Love the Ford Tech but hate the 2-year-old who used play-doe and stuck the tablet on the dash, duel pipes, HP, towing rate and rear wheel drive (all good stuff). Ford, please take note of the 2020 KIA Telluride with those beautiful waterfall break lights and nice arce and the 2020 Hyundai Palisade headlights and interior. Ford also need better-looking wheels (borrow a few from GMC )

Its 2020, and they still using halogen bulbs (for high beam but still). FULL LED FORD !!! Not just a bulb in a halogen housing. I will be sticking with a 19 Sport, due to it being cheaper and dealers are dropping prices like mad! So the new sport has 400hp, thats only 35 more than a '19 and a tuner will give you almost 100. Choose wisely.

All fine and dandy, but is it going to get a good crash off-set rating from the So far Explorers have gotten a poor rating.
