I bought one in 2012. Six years later I am glad I did. One set of tires, brake pads, standard fluids - that's been my total maintenance and it's still great to look at and fun to drive. City milage nothing to boast about (long distance highway milage is excellent) - but with such low maintenance costs, it more than balances out. My first automatic - (no I wouldn't get another automatic), but I will keep this thing until it dies. Usual Honda fit and finish, most controls intuitive- highly recommended. I have motorcycles for fun anyway... - so - if you can find one with reasonable milage (under 100KM or 60,000 miles) and a good service record you'd be a happy camper. Acura service levels good, and most independent garages, if you have one that you trust, have the requisite software. When you step on it, it goes - fun to drive - handling has a fun understeer, the paddle shifters are quick and immediate, and for what it's worth, as a leadfoot and cross-border traveller, it's innocuous to the constabulary (radar guns notwithstanding). Mine is the base model, and easily the best car I've ever owned. Highly recommended, and the leather seats have stood up well to traveling quite a bit with a coonhound!

@royalbangal101 Trust me, one of the best investments you could make on this car. As an Acura technician and an owner of multipe TLs myself, you won't regret a single thing.

Mike Forrester thanks for sharing I am really looking for a reliable car but still has tons of style. Reliable doesn't have to be boring.

I am really considering buying one of these
      It's the 280hp v6 with tech package w 35k miles
      And their asking 17,995
Just wanted to know if that's sounds like a fair price and is this car worth it

Hey still has a lot to offer for the money when comparing to new cars. I mean would you rather spend 17 grand on a lightly used 4th generation Acura TL or a brand new Toyota Yaris? I think the TL stretches your dollar just a little bit more :p

michael aiello I would say that's fair but getting the price dropped a little is in reason I just got one a advance model with 50k on it for 16,300 got them to take $700 off I love it

The TL 3.5 FWD should be quick considering the only 75 pound lighter, 5 speed auto TSX V6 ran 14.6 @ 99 mph through the 1/4 mile in Car & Driver. This TL with the 6 speed auto should more than make up those 75 pounds with it's better transmission. I bet you could get a 14.4-14.5 @ 99-100 mph or better out of this car at the 1/4 mile strip at close to sea level.

I am seriously considering trading my 2014 Civic Si for a TL like this. The main thing holding me up is that I'd be going back to an automatic transmission.

+MrMK94 the previous generation TL like the 2008 have a 6 speed manual! No AWD, but I personally like the look of the previous gen better. I would pick that up for a luxury daily, or get an Si if you really want to have some fun. I'd hold off, take a look at the 2016 Si when it is revealed and see if it's worth it to you to buy one of those off the lot. Otherwise I'd look at the 8th gen Si around 2008~2010 (something like that). The 9th generation like the 2014 model isn't quite as much fun as the 8th gen. Either is a great pick, Si is more fun in my opinion though!

I have a 2014 TL and absolutely love it, at first I wasn't too crazy about the looks, but after having one as a loaner (previous RDX owner), I purchased one.  The car drives like a dream and I have the FWD Tech version, to date no complaints!

To Sean Legend, I bet he will live longer then you will though...I don't remember the last time I met a "little person" with health problems but we've all met a lot of taller people with plenty of health problems haven't we??  Want to bet on who lives longer between you and him? Have the bimbo that's in awe of your dumb ass because your taller read this article and watch her reaction...Legend.

its no wonder it doesn't sell good, its just ugly compared to the last gen version! They need to go back to roots, but hey, Honda has fallen big time in the last 10 years. At least they are starting to realize it now.

i really don't understand why acura did such a drastic redesign with this car if the 3rd generation was so successful..i think that was a huge mistake...hopefully they will channel some 3rd generation design cues when they redesign for the 5th gen

I just purchased a '12 TL Advance like this one. Mine is white. This is my third TL but my first 4th generation TL. I have to agree with Ross on this one. This car is a blast to drive. So far, I'm loving it.

I'm talking about the base model. Tech gives you the spoiler. What I'm saying is that the TL needs these extras to look good. WHICH this FWD tech has.

I don't follow you. This is the FWD Advance trim level with the larger 18" wheels that look fine to me. And it does have a spoiler.......I don't understand what you're talking about.

The FWD model is fine, but really let down by its smallish looking wheels and lack of a spoiler - this car's back end NEEDS the spoiler!

How does Honda's marketing strategies end up being a slanderous fuck-tard comment about America? You Sir, are a fucking idiot.

You must have some big ass friends. All mine fit great back there. I've ridden back there too, and it wasn't bad at all. I have to move my driver seat up a bit, but that's any 4 door really unless you're talking a caddy or other boat...Considered the RDX, or are you set on a car?
