Awesome truck! Lots ppl just dont need F150 size. New Ranger is 100% Ford truck tough & build quality. Yet sized best for my needs! Has awesome FX4 package. Superb EcoBoost motor w/10spd tranny. Tons tech. Great ride & handling plus good MPGs. Drove best in the class to me. Spanking new "black on black" crew cab Ranger in my driveway👍

Australia has a 2.2lt and a 3.2lt 5cylinder and the models here are xls, xlt, fx4, wild track, raptor. there is also a company here that does engine conversions and they have put a 5.0lt coyote V8 into a ranger.

Thos worth looking into, I'm tired of a v8. I own a Tahoe, good rig. But eats fuel, and its getting high miles on it. 250 k so far. No troubles. But a four cylinder would be nice to save on gas.

You'll definitely be seeing better gas mileage from a turbo-four banger compared to a V8! These are mean little trucks, you should check one out when time comes to buy. Thanks for watching! -Zach

As a new Ranger (Lariat) owner, everything you said was pretty spot-on. Thanks for the Dyno session! I love my new Ranger but the price was tough to stomach. XLT's with FX4 are about 36 or 37 around here. Lariat model is 40-43K depending on options. Ford is offering almost ZERO incentives to buy a Ranger right now. I got 2K off and that's it. You can get X-plan pricing to help reduce the price a little. You can get another 2K off if you bought a Ranger that was in the ford CTP program. CTP means the dealer uses the truck for 2000 miles, then you get it cheaper.

Why they put a 2.7 ecoboost engine instead of just putting the 3.7 ecoboost engine

    • AmericanTrucks Ford
AmericanTrucks Ford In reply to Alberto Gonzales

The new Rangers actually come with the 2.4L Ecoboost. In all honesty I'm not sure why they didn't just go with the 2.7L or 3.5L EcoBoost motors but it most likely comes down to gas mileage and CAFE standards for that size vehicle. -Zach

Drove the rest of midsize trucks last mo. Then drove the new Ranger. Was like nite & day in differences! New Ranger has best tech features & powertrain hands dwn. Also super smooth & firm ride... I preferred. U get what u pay for folks! Test drive is a must if in the market. #Ecoboost

If it came with the 3.5 Ecoboost or a diesel engine I might consider the new Ranger, but since it's not i'm actually looking at a new diesel Colorado sometime early to mid 2020.

Everyone is complaining about price so I looked up an FX4 equivalent in the Colorado. $41.600 with a enimic v6, less towing and payload. Less cab room in the crewcab than the Ranger. And the testers say it wasn't very comfortable.
Ranger sounds good to me. Besides anyone that pays sticker is a sucker.

Its nice but $40k for a "truck" loaded with useless electronics and tiny useless bed? No real space behind the seat. You gonna off road get a Jeep. Hell at least you could pull over and sleep in a tiny SUV not in this.

I knew it would come to this. Everyone wants their cup holders , sound system , power everything, you are going to pay for it. Can I get a basic pickup truck? I don’t see anything out there. Closest is the Frontier pro4 . Only choice and yet still has some features you could do without and bring the price down.
