Cool vid. I just picked this car up and as my first manual transmission car, it's been a fun learning experience. What do u recommend for smoother shifts? Specifically 1st to second

+Jason Gomez It's not a good habit to develop, its abusing the car to mask inexperience and will add up to friction plate wear.

When I bought the car I did a lot of research on the forums based off of peoples thoughts and experiences with the FB6. The first to second gear is the hardest shift to achieve smooth shifting, to combat it you release the clutch and at the very end give it very little gas to transition into second. This is not something I do at all. This is something people can use to help aid themselves while learning.

This isn't good advice, this is slipping the clutch for smoothness. You don't want to slip the clutch when you shift. Up shifting smoothly is all about timing. The car has a good amount of rev hang, so often this means you need to shift slower so that the RPMs are matched when you release the clutch. If you're getting clunked backwards; your head hits the headrest when you shift, that means you're shifting too fast. If youre getting pulled forward; your head goes toward the dash that means you're shifting too slowly.

you think you'll end up trading for the new Si or Type-R? honestly, i like the 9th gen sedan styling a little bit more. tough decision when the new one comes out, though.

Don't buy intake first. Our cars get sensitive when you change the intake without a tune. It's not safe to run. Get a downpipe first. Either full race if you want loud top end. Or if you go boosted you'll want full race DP/exhaust. If you want somewhat quieter, more tq in mid range, and only lose about 1-3hp at top end you'll want RV6 DP/q300 exhaust. Make sure you get PRL intake tho it's the only intake that actually makes confirmed power on this car. But yeah don't get intake first without a tune you might fuck up the motor. And besides changing the intake without a tune will only lose power! Our stock air box is actually very well designed

+Jason Gomez Yeah man, np. Got a 2012 si bout 10 months ago. Got intake first like a dummy. Was just excited to throw something on it haha.. But then it wasn't funny when I realized I had to spend 900$ for FP and tune. So I said fuck it and got a q300 exhaust too. Buying a DP for Christmas. So basically don't do what I did lol. Now i gotta retune and all that bullshit.
