With millions of CUVs flying off lots there is no doubt, quantities are not limited. However, as good as many of the affordable options are from Mazda, Hyundai, Honda, and Toyota, many buyers are looking for more luxury and refinement. So jumping to a premium brand like Audi, Mercedes and BMW make sense. We try to break down the pros and cons of stepping up to the BMW X3 30i.

BMW’s aren’t worth anything after the warranty runs out. BMW’s need to work on reliability. They are endless money pits.

Great review. I'd love to buy a M40i but it's 13k more than the 30i...

Hello from France 🇫🇷 ! I ordered last week a BMW X3 M Sport package and I’ll receive it in June. Your report is the best I’ve never seen about the X3.

Why don't you comment on the way it looks and what it actually cost I think you're trying to deceive deceive your viewers, you have no problems mentioning the price of Lexus though,
the newer Mazda SUVs Drive even better than this BMW and I think theInteriors as good not to mention reliability is going to be better then this overpriced car

Agree. Six cylinders would fit better with this car. Have the 4 cylinder and its okay, but not great.

You should do something similar on the Q5/SQ5. I think it feels more solid when compared with the BMW, but the BMW drives more sporty.

Edit: Didn't realize you had already done the Audi as well. Great stuff here as usual

Is it that BMW does not use run flats in the US? I mean it is clear that the tire under the cargo place looks like and actually is an after thought.

PS: So the car has run-flats but still carries a fifth wheel??

That movable part on driver's seat is the most useless feature. That part is not heated; so in winter only 60% of the seat pad is heated. I'd rather have the regular seat.

Com'on, how much money BMW paid you? Memory seat is not standard, it's in a $2000 option. Lumbar support is option too. Almost all cars Hyundai/Kia/Mazda come with standard features that is an option on BMW/Audi/Benz.

As usual, a terrific review. The interior touch screen jutting out of the dash is a horrendous design idea, many manufacturers are doing this now including Mazda and it is just the worst thoughtless poorest design I've ever seen. The way to do the screen properly is the way that it is done in the Porsche Macan. Integrated into the dash excellent in its intuitiveness and function. Savage geese has become the best car reviewer on YouTube.

I still own a 2016 X4 335i, there a a few rattles in the car due to the OEM run flat tires. After replacing those tires with regular ones the rattles are less noticable.

There are two stupidest things about BMW infotainment system. The first is the lack of play/pause button, the one button on the center panel will pause the music and mute the whole audio, what if I want to stop the music but still want to hear the navigation sound from Google Map in my phone, which is hundred times better than BMW's own navigation system. The second one is in BMW's navigation system there is no way to stop navigation other than literally speaking out the voice command "stop navigation". I have been reading the user manual and searching on Internet and it seems they took out that function in the newer generation of iDrive system, which totally doesn't make sense.

Great review man, subscribed. I think people have unrealistic expectations about consumer goods these days. Cars are expensive, complicated machines that wear out. They cost money. If you love it, you deal with it. The X3 is a great product and cross shopped with Mazda cx's, Subaru forester, vw tiguan, skoda kodiaq, Hyundai Santa fe, Audi q5 and lexus nx it justified the higher price point (to me) with the superior drive train, nvh and aesthetics. Yes it will cost me in 4 years no doubt. But your review highlighted why I handed over the cash for one. The 30d is bliss....

So much hype about this car brand and apple iphones, and what propaganda. Toyota and Honda are still far superior than this. Give me a break with other car mfrs copying bmw lol.
