The 2019 Peugeot 508 is an interesting car. It better be for the price PSA is asking for the car. The new Peugeot 508 is more compact than the model it replaces, which Peugeot says should make it more appealing to drive also in the city. This 508 GT model is powered by a 1.6 litre turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 225 hp. Peugeot compares the 508 to Audi A5 Sportback. But is it good enough to take on BMW 3 Series?

Starting price: 31 500 euro
As tested: ~53 000 euro

I had many different cars. Mercedes, BMW( 7), Citroen(XM), etc. The Peugeot 508 is so far the best.

      I've always been a fan of Peugeot's 405s&406s. I had 405 1.6GR 93K & 405 1.9TD GLX 95N. 406 2.1TDs&2.0HDIs 110Bhp. Sadly a 508 2.0HDI GT line is too expensive.

nearly the same price ? absolutly not at equal equipements. Put 10 000 bucks more for an A4 or a serie 3 with as much options as a 508 full options.

This guy likes to play pretend that the 3008 and 5008, which are both thought of as premium models, aren't a thing; "how dare Peugeot make a move in the premium class!?"
Trying to mask his prejudice with snide remarks like "people's car" etc.
The i-cockpit has been getting critical acclaim worldwide and this guy acts like it's just been introduced.
Now, either this guy's been living under a rock and therefore is unfit to do this, or he's yet another hater ( _read_ : paid by Germans to downplay the competition).

    • Gen the Master
Gen the Master In reply to Gen the Master

@Marek Drives Yes, let's just ignore the fact that the i-cockpit has been evolving ever since it first launched. It's just Peugeot trying to get rid of its old stock and shoehorning it to newer, best-selling models. Go figure. LOL 😏
But never mind. I'm wasting my time with you. I just read through some of your other comments/replies here and I realised that my first impression of you, that you're a hater, was indeed the correct one.
      👏

    • Marek Drives
Marek Drives In reply to Gen the Master

Not quite. Seeing it in other cars simply means Peugeot had a bunch of models in the pipeline, and it pushed through with the i-Cockpit design. Again, I generally like it, but I understand what puts people off, when they first experience it.

    • Gen the Master
Gen the Master In reply to Gen the Master

@Marek Drives No. While it's true that some criticism on the i-cockpit and smaller steering wheel did exist when it first launched with the 208, like, *years* ago, that criticism has long since ended, seeing as the i-cockpit, present in both the new 3008 and 5008, has proven its merits (as well as journalists being more accustomed to it).
I don't know where you're getting all this.

    • Marek Drives
Marek Drives In reply to Gen the Master

Actually I'm one of the few people openly liking the i-Cockpit design. Most car journalists criticise the small steering wheel and raised instrument cluster. But you'd have to see my other Peugeot reviews to know that.

Wonderful your video dude!! Greetings from Germany. Only, in my opinion, this Peugeot it's more a competition for BMW Serie 4 Gran Coupe and Audi A5 Sportback than Serie 3 or A4. Personally, I am waiting for the Sport Engineered version that comes next year... And I hope that comes with Autohold and ventilation for seats 🤣
