This is flawed testing. When you're driving the hood is closed, this makes you suck in hot air from under the hood which makes you (in most cases) lose power because the MAF sensor detects the high temps and changes ignition timings. If you really want to know whether your mods are worth it, keep the hood closed on the dyno and use big fans at the front to simulate real world conditions.

Hey does anyone know how much it would cost to do a j style exhaust on this car?

This is what we need: this type of test done on a non-high performance car, more of an everyday/economy car to see any differences with upgrades. Most vids of this type of testing are always done with high performance vehicles with already powerful engines so it's about time to see one done with a 4cyl car. Thank you. And although the numbers don't seem to be that much higher, it's a bigger difference when the hp is less to begin with.

It was dropped into D3 so that it wouldn't go past 3rd gear. Notice the dynograph doesn't start till about 4k rpm

if you listen closely you can hear how much of a sound difference volume wise there is. pay attention to the sound of the fan between the first and second runs.

it sounds a hell of a lot better. full disclosure, the first few seconds of the stock run I accidentally was covering one of the two microphones on my Note 4 and you can tell when I realized that. the 2nd video after the air intake was installed was recorded with the same device in the same format.

The manufacturers advertise what the engine alone makes, the actual numbers are usually 30-50 hp less once it’s applied to the drivetrain

Mary weather They ARE 177 hp, but Wheel Horse Power is different. It will always be a little less than what the engine is making
