Toyota Hilux is in its eight generation. Toyota launched the Hilux in the spring of 1968. The name Hilux comes from the words high and luxury. Over the first several generations the Hilux looked more like a passenger car converted into a pickup, but as of 5th generation onwards, it was clearly an off-road pickup truck. Today Toyota Hilux is synonymous with durability and reliability. In some European markets Toyota is offering 50th anniversary editions limited to 50 units. In Poland we get this orange or while truck with some black stickers on the body, pipe-like sidesteps, bull-bar in the front (I know it’s illegal in some countries), extra LED lighting, and a sealed pickup bed.

Starting price: ~25 000 euro
As tested: ~50 000 euro

How does that Hilux handle those narrow, winding English country roads?

Toyota is over doing a joke for a vehicle which is celebrating 50 the anniversary its totally shame that they didn't increased a much bigger engine such as a 4.0 four cylinders( 4cyl) NO4C-VJ, for diesel, for gasoline engine, 4.0 V6 1GR,FE ,or the newest version 3.5 V6 - with twin turbos.

I don't think they would sell any of these in Europe due to emissions regulations.

Not to mention that our Hilux has no built -in DAC also. I believe Toyota Phils intended to omit those to drive the costs down. Having said that, I still agree with you

Speaking for the dictators that will eventually get these from the used market: does it come with points in the pick up bed to fix your automatic turret ?

Is it popular in Poland? Do you have Isuzu pickups in Poland?

Pickup trucks are generally NOT very popular in Poland, around 3.4k sold last year. #1 is Ranger (900), #2 is Hilux (700), and #3 is D-Max (500).

There was a time, when a pickup truck was an interesting alternative to an SUV for tax purposes, but I think people soon realised they are saving money, but also sacrificing a lot of comfort.

Compared to real pick ups it's just bot useful at all as a work machine, the interior is horrible even on upper trims. It just sucks all around and it can be of use to hunters I guess? Or maybe it can carry some yard work supplies but that's about it. Compare this to the F150!

It is NOT an Amarok Marek! You call it this at least twice in the video.
Towing capacity is not up to the industry standard for this category of vehicle, which is 3.5 tons. It is even beaten by the Mitsubishi L200 in the UK, which can tow 3.5 tons as long as the trailer is triple axle. Most other rivals have unrestricted 3.5 tons towing capacity. This is important for most farmers, who make up the majority of customers for pickups.
Actually on the pre-facelift model, in the UK at least, there was a way to upgrade the towing capacity to 3.5 tons. Not sure how that was done.

If you're talking about the back seat situation 2:50, I should have made the comma more audible. ...., also Amarok gets a split bench...
4:27 - I'm also referring to charging ports in the Amarok.

Haha- I love your comment about "Toyota ordered a billion of these" clocks- I think they placed the order in about 1983 and all 50 million Toyotas since them have had the same clock! :-) Also you called it "Amarok" at 2:44. It's funny that you feel you must use the step to climb into the drivers seat since the seats are bang on the floor and so low that I would think you could slide right in. Personally, I _hate_ the "legs out" seating position- it kills my back.
