This is one of most balanced reviews I've seen of this vehicle. Tellingly it's from a Swiss reviewer. The UK based reviews tend to "damn with faint praise" this class of vehicle, and all too often they are too concerned with brand "prestige, which this review is not. Anything from Ford, Opel (Vauxhall in the UK) and the other mainstream manufacturers is fighting a battle from the start.
One point I'd make though is that I don't see the lack of 4x4 as a negative to almost all the intended demographic in this class of vehicle. To be honest all that additional weight and complexity of 4x4 just hits the fuel consumption and adds to insurance and service costs and for what, basically the bragging rights that "its a 4x4" outside the school gates after dropping the kids off? Intelligrip is very clever and the ideal compromise, some of the Youtube videos out there that show it working in the 3008 are very impressive, OK it is not going to rival a Range Rover off road, but for the intended market it is more than a decent solution. Glass roofs though! the one in my 2011 Qashqai just caused condensation in the winter when the warm car interior cooled down, and put glare on the SatNav and instruments in the summer unless you closed the blind, so what was the point of it!

The greatest problem with this car is that it is actually Peugeot! If it was proper Opel it would have proper 4WD as the smaller Mocca and be better in general! Too bad :(
If there is no 4WD you can have Astra tourer - more space, more driving enjoyment, better engines and all this for less price. Stupid French :(

Did you ever see a panoramic roof that you can open?? That's why it is a panormaic roof, my friend. What a review is this? Very bad, and not reliable!

And be honest: how often do you use 4x4 drive? It is the look man form the SUV, not the four wheel drive! It's a crossover, remember? My God.

There is plenty of room for your iPhone in the big room between the two chairs where you put your arm on! But why do you need your phone?? You have bluetoooth, USB and Apple carplay!! No need to handle your phone during the drive. is my experience. Even whatsapp calling is possible, works fantastic! So please coorect your negative opinion about room for your phone.
You can sure switch the arm chair to the front, so again not good to give comment without testing all the opportunities.

On 07:48 you say armrest can't go forward. You make a mistake. It can and it's very easy. You just slide it front. I don't know how you don't find that. You can see in this review on 30:10 youtube.com/watch?v=dRgZDIM0C58 Second your phone it's huge Can you tell me how many cars manage to fit that phone in this place? Third your phone can be fit in the armrest but this version you drive dont have that. It's the option wifi phone charger with the belt inside the armrest and can easy fit your phone. You can see again in this video on 30:32 youtube.com/watch?v=dRgZDIM0C58

I am sure you will be happy with the Hyundai Tucson. I am hoping to review it at one point too, but can't tell you when this will be. There will be a review of the Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid coming soon and the new Hyundai Kona is scheduled to arrive soon too which I will test. Same goes for the new i30N and the i30 Fastback when they will arrive. So stay tuned it Hyundai is interesting for you!

OK, Thank you. Most probably will buy Tucson. Is in the third generation already, and the product has confirmed its reliability.
The risk of a new product I do not want to assume, problems may occur, service recalls and headaches for ownership, so lost time and nerves.
      Good luck.

+Daniel A Ionică thanks. It all depends on your budget and what you would use the car for. The Tucson is a proper AWD while the Grandland X is front Wheel drive with Electronics. The Hyundai offers as well a better warranty package (at least in Switzerland), while Opel has currently better leasing offers (0% leasing).

+David Nicholas thanks a lot David. Nice to hear that you like my review style. Maybe it’s because Thomas‘ English is... let’s call it special... ;-)

He is doing a great job I must admit. The main difference is that he is getting the cars much earlier, even before they are launched directly from the car manufacturers, while I am working with local garages that obviously get their cars only after the official launch of a model.

Therefore his reviews come out way earlier compared to mine.

      Cheers mate.
