www.autobytel.com/jeep/grand-cherokee/2014/?id=32972 For the 2014 model year, Jeep has given the Grand Cherokee a nice exterior update to go along with the multiple engine choices. The 5 different trim levels include the Laredo, Limited, Overland, Summit, and SRT models. Base price if $28,795 with the top of the line SRT model going for $62,995. The model seen here in this review is the Overland 4x4 which costs $45,995.

There have been some significant restyles for 2014 on both the outside and inside. The changes to the exterior consist of a new front end with a different unique grille for each model, new headlights featuring LED daytime running lamps, LED taillights, and new wheels.

The whole interior engineering team from Jeep spent years updating the interior on their SUV line-up and the result is a wonderful interior that takes Jeep from boring and mundane into the luxury world to compete with the best in the business. On the inside there is a ton going on with a new steering wheel, large 8.4 inch navigation touch screen, and Command View Sunroof which extends practically the length of the vehicle. Something else very exciting is the selection of high end materials and fabrics on the interior. The wood trim is actual open pore meaning you can feel the bumps and grooves.

There are 4 different engines offered throughout the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee line-up. The first is a 3.6 liter Pentastar V-6 that produces 290 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. New for this year is a 3.0 liter V-6 EcoDiesel engine making 240 horsepower and a whopping 420 lb-ft. of torque. This diesel engine also has low CO2 emissions thanks to the clean diesel technology. Stepping up to the larger V-8 engines there is an optional 5.4 liter HEMI V-8 that makes 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft. of torque. Finally the engine in the SRT high performance model is a 6.4 liter HEMI that makes 470 horsepower and 465 lb-ft. of torque. All four engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy for the 3.6 liter 4x2 is 17 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway.

The driving dynamics on the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland are outstanding. The Quadra-Drive II 4WD system is amazingly capable off-road in any condition including, mud, ice, snow, and sand. On the road the Grand Cherokee is a great drive and can tow up to 7400 lbs which is best in class. This SUV is a solid buy when matched up against the competition. On a final note the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee is made here in the U.S.A.

He said in the first part of the film that it had the 3.6L V6? Then it turned out to be the 5.7L V8? Then he forgot to say something about the 6.4L V8 in the SRT8 when listing the available motors but did put it in the discussion. Love the new Grand Cherokee with its available Harman/Kardon 19 Speaker, 825 Watt audio system and the 4x4 trail rated bundle with the Eco-Diesel.

These newer vehicles are not meant for off roading they are meant for idiots that don't know how to drive through snow in the winter in the city, now for country people like me a 1996 jeep Cherokee that's meant for off roading.

The newer Grand Cherokees have far more off road capability than your old model from the 90s. Just the terrain settings alone on the new models will outclass the older GRand Cherokees. I won't even mention the higher ground clearance you get with the air suspension.

Yeah looks BIG but you put anything small in front of it will be. It's a advertising ploy, check out how close the stearing wheel is at 4:15.

Ford F350 handles better on a twisty road than GC with air suspension and the interior in GC feels cheap and doesn't give a solid feel - even 8000 euro hatchback feels more solid. Fiat can do good things, so hopefully Jeep will come around.

+Nicholas Mazaras Exactly, I've owned an LR4 and a Range Rover Sport and the Jeep Summit should be compared to a LR4 where I'd say they match each other. The RR's are better but cost so much more. I've ordered a Jeep Summit, arrives next month. Why? Because it is the best value-for-money option. Sure, the RR's are better but having owned one I find the difference isn't worth the extra - for me, that is but obviously, if money is no option and you have to have the best then the RR takes the prize.

Absolutely no idea where you got those figures from.
      Jeep GC Limited = £36,995
      Audi Q7 starts at £43,660
      Volkswagen Touareg starts at £38,160
Mercedes ML250 CDI starts at £44,340
RWD 4 cylinder BMW X5 starts at £46,520
Much higher specified Jeep GC Overland 4X4 V6 = £45,695
And it's not like there's a huge difference in interior quality anymore either.
