The 2015 Jaguar XE is a very important car for this luxury brand. Taking on key rivals such as BMW, Audi and Mercedes Benz, this new Jaguar faces tough competition. Its handsome looks and sporting drive plays into its favour. Our test car is the 2015 Jaguar XE R Sport 180 equipped with a 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel ingenium engine producing 178BHP. 0-60MPH in 7.4 seconds and top speed 140MPH. 67.3MPG combined.

Can the Jaguar XE beat the BMW 3 Series? We find out in this road test review.

That dashboard is extremely bland. Audi's cockpit looks adventurous compared to that dullness.

Too right !!!! it's about time the people of the UK brought British and stopped buying German box's. All you Audi, BMW and Merc drivers should hang your heads in shame as you are killing off a great British brand. Rule Britannia !!! ☺

Im awaiting delivery of my used 2016 XE (180) r-sport, which is loaded with extras. After 3 used Xf`s this will be a refreshing change. I'm smitten with Jaguars.

It may be an idea when reviewing cars like this to show yourself sat in the back, with the drivers seat positioned where you would normally have it.
Apart from that, it was a good review. Thanks.

Would you be comfortable behind the drivers seat, if it were in the position for you driving?

Had one for 3 months with my job and it is fantastic. I got it brand new and once the engine wears in after around 1500 miles it got much better. Lovely machine and they are very good on diesel.

I just had one for a loaner car from Jaguar. I have 201 XJ Super Sports .  I can't compare 510hp with 340hp but its a great little car. I noticed it right away. That's way I am here, checking on the XE. I am not looking to trade in but Jaguar has a big hit here.

Inside Lane Haha, knew it! Between Hengistbury head and Bournemouth... I used to live down there, beautiful. Great review too, it seems to be an amazing car, i’m going to organise a test drive. Just one thing, is the XF much behind it on driving fun? Prices aren’t that different and it would fix the downsides... ?

+Heath Weber It's ridiculously common for people to say stuff like that on Youtube where you have no need to prove your claims. I'm sick of people saying stuff like that. Look on any car vid, and there's always some little prick saying, "I'm 18 and I have an Aston Martin". It's a crock of shit.

It's completely unrealistic for 99% of 19 year olds to buy this car, and even LESS likely that this car will appeal to a 19 year old.

There is zero credibility to the claim, as people who own cars of any type, NEVER need to add how old they are in relation to what they drive. It's just a flash boast, which he doesn't have to back up.
I'm sure he has a Veyron too.

If he has one, he won't mine sending me a picture of the Registration Document, but of course he doesn't have one, so he won't.

Why would you say this? You don't even know this kid or his situation. There are many wealthy young people in the World these days who could easily buy a $45K car. Maybe he insherited money, maybe he's a business owner, maybe he his dad is rich, maybe he won a law suit. I see young kids out cruising in $100K cars. You just never know about people.

I do find it funny when someone has to tell you their age in the same sentence as they tell you what kind of car they drive. It does lend less credibility to the story.

    • notformebeaky
      notformebeaky In reply to Priemholawien

+FlareDope No, it's just a bullshit claim. It's a £45k car, 19 year olds don't have that sort of money, the insurance alone would be about £10k.
I wish people would stop making shit up.
