I drive a Sorento every day, and its an absolute brahma ! Great car, fun to drive, big and well made. Discovery, only for snobs and idiots that like unreliable cars. You will regret buying a Landrover ...

I'm think about getting one, how much is cost of ownership per year? I know Land Rover is usually pretty unreliable for used, the ones I'm looking at have about 30-40k miles on them.

I have owned a 2016 Discovery Sport for a year and I would recommend it to anyone in the market...with a few caveats. First, the powertrain as purchased was a huge let down. The turbo lag was languid, the transmission indecisive and the MPG was average at best (21 MPG overall). This was solved with a performance chip which corrected air/ fuel mixture, throttle response and corrected horsepower and torque curve. Now I can say that acceleration is on par with a Porsche Cayenne and I am now getting 28.9 MPG overall! Second, fit and finish. Fit was actually pretty good, and I experienced no squeaks/ rattles like some others complain about. Fingers crossed that it will continue. Finish was/ is not as good as my friends Range Rover, but then again, I purchased it CPO for $35,000 as compared to his tag of $68,000. I have also opted for some minor material changes such as stainless steel pedals, stainless steel center console cover and two storage trays from amazon. Lastly, off-road capability is very Wrangler-Like! I have forded over two feet of water and impressed all with a nice mud hole crossing display to help a stranded Silverado!

Amusing video, however I find it a little dated now. Still it hasn't stopped me ordering one (Dynamic Lux model). MPG I think its a lot better than John has stated, we all drive differently ( hence autonomous cars will never work till they create an interface that's in all cars and they talk to each other in their vicinity)! The 10 inch infotainment system is far better, there are very few reviews on here that show it. The extra 6+7 seats are a handy option that most will not use, but on the occasions you do and for short journeys adults will cope and children will love it. Use the provided usb port, plug in an iPad, games system and their 'zombiefied'. LOL there so far back you wont even hear  'are we there yet'?.Yes it can be pricey but has good options and  it will go where other pretenders wont.I bought mine  because I want comfort and the ability to drive on 'A' roads and use the 'Mud and Ruts' or more appropriately (pothole terrain option). It looks great too.

*Wait for the facelift in 2018.*
New centre console, revised door casings, new lights, new alloys, digital dials and new front and rear design accents. New colours inside and outside, with the likely withdrawal of Granite interior colour.
Disco Sport 2 is *already* in early stage development, pencilled in for early 2021. Likely to be exactly the same size as this car.

all the hate about the looks and interiors of this car is justified but there's actually not a better allrounder package than this car. This car will pass the test of time. The interiors though not being very exciting are one of the most practical found in cars of this range. The build quality is amazing and is one of the safest cars around as well. The biggest downside however is the 2.0 litre engine. If you are looking for a proper SUV that you won't change for the next 5 6 years and have other cars as well you can't go wrong with the discovery
