Can you use this for changing out brakes on SLK which I believe requires turning off and back on ESP.

Not sure, I believe you can disable ESP in the cluster though by putting the car in dyno mode

No I didn’t. Space is tight once you get those panels off. It took about 3 hours to do it.

I did replace the rear passenger seat belt I need to change the driver buckle next. Required me removing the back seat, the weather stripping around the door and the panel covering the seat belt mechanism. Whole process took like 3 hours.

one more question, my cold air is not working and i was told it might be the frion but when i put frion it still didn't work. what exactly can be the problem?

So many things is an understatement. In my case, the electronic fan control module didn't turn on the engine cooling fan at the low control voltage provided by the computer, so I only got cool air when the engine was hot and the fan went on full blast, or when I was driving. Not when I wanted it, stuck in San Francisco traffic. Of course, you can't change the control module, you have to change out the entire fan, drain the coolant etc etc. To check this, start the engine when cold, turn on the AC and look to see the fan is spinning.

Could be so may things. I’d start basic first check the relay. Then check to see if you hear the compressor turning on when you turn the ac on. There also is a temperature sensor inside the car that could prevent it from cooling properly. Also over filling with a/c refrigerant can cause too much pressure in the system creating leaks as well as not being able to cool.
