2.7 ecoboost motor failure at 25k miles. My review on the motor and what happened before mine let go.

Link to a video of a different 2.7 leaking out of the oil pan, mine was doing the exact same thing. automobilrevue.net/v/V2dOM0JxVE00eGM

My son had similar experience with the 2.7 oil pan leak. No valve problem. Dealer was also frustrated. They made good deal on a new 5.0 for him.

Ford has the worst customer service including the 2018/19 mustang with a ticking engine and bad transmission. There EcoBoost are not reliable also. That’s why there getting rid of that engine. Since they can’t get it fix, now there going with the SVO engine 4 cylinder turbo. Let’s see if this is another lemon? I’ve got my late model 2014 GT premium mustang and love it, reliable , not like the new models.

You are either eco or boost never both. Towing with these does not get better mileage than a V8. Driving around normally combined highway city I get between 18-20 MPG. Granny it on the highway and I get around 22-23.

WOW....just get to the point! Oil leaking from the plastic oil pan bolts, "fixed" 4 times then an exhaust valve broke. BTW I have a 2017 F-150 with the 2.7.....zero issues except during the 1st complimentary free oil change the dealer forgot to put back the oil cap! I noticed the smell of burnt oil when I got home, popped the hood and discovered the cap still sitting on the engine!

Foreal thought the same exact thing! Plus I also thought that's why they probably discounted it from 48K to 36-5 then slides the truck into their Service dept and racks up some hours for warranty claims. That discount was returned 100fold through that dealers service bay!! Fr fr

2.7lt in a full size truck , unless it's a diesel , it's garbage , plastic composite oil pans and such , the days of 300,000 -400 ,000 kilometer (Canadian Mileage ) motors are coming to a end . Mitsubishi is fighting to get thier 2.7 litre diesel in the American Market along with Toyota , till then I'll stick with a V8 I. Full size truck . Nothing surprises me with Ford Either

actually is not necesary to be a Nasa engineer to understand that an engine with 8 cylinders producing the same power as another engine with half the cylinders is going to last a lot longer... specially if they're both built from the same materials...

      cheers!

You just can't run turbos with little engines in trucks.

That eco boost engine is not good. I have read so many things bad about it. Good 5.0 is the best Ford has ever made.

I'm sticking with V-8 power. I pull a travel trailer now, so I'm trading in my 5.3 6 speed for a 6.2 10 speed. GM, of course. I had three Fords in the past and learned my lesson.

I’m looking at Raptors and I cannot fathom a 6cyl turbo. Gotta have a 6.2. I just see the current trend on turbos as they did in early 80s 4 cyl with turbo in SVO mustangs. Didn’t take for a reason. Just my opinion if your gonna get a truck get a V8. If your not going to use it that much get a 6cyl but don’t believe it will tow or haul like a V8.

Not a ford owner but they make some decent stuff and to each his own. I think they needed more engineers than accountants deciding the quality of parts going into these engines and also a lot more road and lab testing before releasing to the public. Know some guys who have not had any or many problems and others countless problems. Nobody complains about the power but at what cost. Friend had one and I asked what about turbos, cam chains, fasers, etc etc and he said it is a lease with full term warranty not gonna be my problem. Hopefully ford will be able to bulletproof these engines eventually as the performance is excellent but you have to have reliability.
