The Armada (Nissan Patrol) is different than all other Nissan vehicles. Nissan SUV's are awd wagon version of their cars and not so great going off road. However, the Armada (Patrol) is built to go off road. I think you'd like the way it handles bad roads Sarkawt...take one out for a drive if you can.

Pathfinder is definitely more ugly. Looks like a lifted minivan. However the pathfinder is way more practical than the armada. Fyi, a fully loaded qx60 is quite different than a platinum pathfinder

@The Fast Lane with Joe Tunney true, except the jx35 have a lower towing rating, only 3500lbs due to being a belt driven trans, not a chain. 3500 is unacceptable for an SUV imo...I do like them all though. They all shine in there own respect. I am a huge Nissan fan!

Pricewise, they're definitely different. For years Infiniti had gone away from making expensive versions of their Nissan siblings but of late they've gone back to it in everything they do. I thing the FM platform vehicles from 2003 - 2008 will all be collectors cars for that reason. The "new," (it's been out for so long now) JX35/QX60 is nicer than the Pathfinder because it's so much more plush, but ultimately it's the same car. If I was buying either, I'd buy a JX35 with low miles and enjoy the savings.

The Armada really is an amazing SUV...and it's so close in price to normal SUV's that I think it's the best full-size sport ute deal on the market.

Two different vehicles. I have a 2017 Pathfinder and I am very happy with it. The Armada is a nice car but I would only consider a V8 truck base vehicle like this if I need the towing capacity. Again different vehicles for different needs but both are nice

Don't know why people hate on the CVT. I love my 2013 Pathfinder. It's now Nissan and Honda for me now. Will never buy Toyota again, cheap build that doesn't last. The Pathy also handles very well IMO, and is smooooooth.

@Theepan I had a 15 pathy and I loved it. Drove so smooth. My wife has a 11 murano and the pathy drives overall so much better. Acceleration is smoother, ride is smoother, mileage is better, and it's so quiet. We drove it consistently to Michigan from Virginia and back often. We would average about 26 mpg loaded down with gear and dogs. 700+ miles. It recently got wrecked and I was so sad. Does amazing in the snow with the 4x4 lock and the 4x4 auto. I could cruise by people on the snowy roads like it was nothing. It may also be because I was born and raised in Michigan and had to deal with that snow. Regardless, it was an amazing vehicle.

I've been driving Nissans for 10 years now, they are excellent vehicles. They seem to be more solid then the Toyotas, which are supposedly more dependable. The new Armada is definitely more off road worthy with greater ground clearance and a full frame. That said, I'm 6 feet tall and can not get in or out of the new Armada without ducking my head. This is with the seat all the way back and all the way down. I don't have this problem with the Pathfinder or even the Rogue my wife owns.

Let's face it, anyone who buys either of these vehicles for off road use is making a mistake! These are not off road vehicles. If off road is what you want by a 4Runner! These two are excellent family rides, but unless you'll be towing a boat or a large camper, the Pathfinder is the better choice, in my opinion.
