You've forgot to mention that an Opel (Vauxhall in the colony's ) is completely unreliable... and the golf will survive it lightyears, even the Renault is a better quality ... opel what's good in the age of the Ascona, Record, senator en the Omega, sins than, all glory has gone, better off in a Dacia

I saw a Golf GTI in work a couple months ago with 200k miles on it. I was surprised that a performance car could do 200k spirited miles

My opinion golf gti for good daily vxr for dragging at lights and Megane for cornering on country roads depends on how you like to drive there all good cars

bullshit.. if a fwd turbocharged car got limited steering angle to keep down oversteer and torquesteering.. you will criticize the too wide turning (as fiat coupe 20v turbo have limited steering angle).
ANYBODY which got a pilot licence there, could come and show you THE SAME oversteering and torque steering for the these other two cars. But depends of what autodealers need to sell more.. AND which of them pay more to tv show producers :)))

Doesn't matter diddly squat about performance that you cant use in the real world anyway and saving a measly grand. You would have a tacky Vauxhall....I will have the GTI up the drive thank you very much. Ask yourself what the re-sale value would be on a Vauxhall as opposed to a trade in too dealer at a VW garage.......Not brilliant but I guarantee you that grand you saved would be gobbled up and much more besides.
