( www.TFLcar.com ) A 10-year-old pickup can't compete with a new truck in terms of power and torque...or can it? With the addition of a new performance exhaust you can make your old truck run and sound better.

MBRP Performance Exhaust: (www.autoanything.com/exhausts-mufflers/61A1966A0A0.aspx)

In this episode of Project Pickup we continue on our quest to modify our ten-year-old diesel Chevy Silverado to more modern specs with a new Performance Exhaust. In this first part of this episode we test the truck to determine a baseline for 0-60 MPH performance as well as sound decibels with the current stock exhaust. We also open and unbox the brand new MBRP Performance Exhaust that we got from (www.autoanything.com).

Would the process for doing this on a 1500 with the 5.3 be similar or is it a bit different?

Not an old pickup, its a turbo diesel. Most were gas that year, and any idiot knows exhaust and programmer will wreck tires on a Duramax... Probably fun to make this video, but its a waste.

Let's be honest guys. The reason for the loud exhaust is because we want to be noticed. Not for safety. Not because we like the sound. Not for improved performance. We're seeking attention. Any attention. From anybody.

straight pipe is the only way to go with a diesel. And you are only paying for a name with Mbrp. Had one on my 06 2500 ram then out a 5" magnaflow straight pipe.

what about staightpiping, illegal? yes, does it still create more horsepower by freeing up the space in the exhaust pipe?
