The "R34" Nissan Skyline GT-R is one of the ultimate Japanese cars -- and it's the most desirable Nissan model ever built. My entire life, I've dreamt of driving the R34 Skyline GT-R -- and today I'm reviewing this R34 GT-R, which is one of a handful of R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R models legally in the United States.

I wanted to hate this car, because then I would feel better about not being able to legally import one until 2024.

I did not hate this car.

Had this in GT2 with the slicks, best engine, biggest turbo, stage 3 clutch, lowest stance with the camber all the way in, i mean the best parts i could get with my money. Also had the mitsubishi 3000gt.

Too bad even the non-MotoRex GTRs are selling for $80k+ in good condition. It's sad the hype has made this car completely overpriced and killed the entire point, which was that it was high performance for a lower price.

I drove an R34 and you most certainly did not need to pull up on the collar to shift into first. Either the one you drove was messed up or modified or the one I drove was modified to remove it, but I doubt that.

If these cars were on the US market, Nissan would be the biggest Japanese importer of automobiles to the US today.

The R34 was produced from 1999 to 2002, meaning the first one can legally be imported in 2024.

It's funny of the 1st automaker was Henry Ford. Japan caught up faster with technology and I bet you America wanted to keep this car away because of the features that were on it and they want to steal those features for their own profit for their own cars I bet you'd us with their doing.
