All of these new electronic safety features are great! Traction control, vehicle stability control, electronic stability management, electronic stability program. They are the best thing since seatbelts. Sometimes however you will need to briefly turn them off. I will explain the situations where you would need to do this. Check your owners manual for the specific settings and controls of your vehicle. Thanks- Ben Lindsey

+TheodoraOf course if it is safety sometimes it's worth checking anyways. But if it was me I would let it go and see if it comes back on. It could be an unusual circumstance with water or temperature or something like that. If it does not come back on in a couple days, you should be ok. If it does come back on then you know something is wrong.

Thanks for the reply but my car isn't a muscle car, I live in the United kingdom the car itself only has a 2.0 litre engine but has a turbo bolt to it , the power is 197 bhp going through the front wheels, the car has a top speed of 146mph , the price of petrol over here is £1.35 a litre and works out to be a $1.74 a litre or $8.70 a gallon.....

I know some of these muscle cars let the wheels spin with it on. You're probably right, without it, it would be like the old days, you hit it just a little too much and you're spinning through a fence or something! We used to almost crash every time we left the house. Thanks for commenting Brother.

Sorry I'm just getting back to you. They didn't plug something in or reconnect something in there it sounds like. If you take it back to them they probably would know what it is and fix it for you. On the other hand they may have been a damaged an ABS brake sensor or wheel speed sensor or something like that. Sometimes they don't want to admit that. But if those lights weren't on when you took it in, the chances are they did something wrong. Hopefully you have a good shop. Take it back to them and see what they say.

I have a 2003 Mazda 6 and one day I driving on the Fwy my car suddenly turned it self off and TCS / AB light came on. I almost crashed thank God I put the hazards on and people on the Fwy gave me room to pull over to the right hand lane. The weather was sunny and I don't know why this happened. I am a single mother and this is my bread and butter to get around. Unfortunately I can't afford to take it in to be fixed. It continues to turn off once in a while do you know why this is happening? I always make sure TCS is off. Do you think it needs to be replaced. I rarely drive it only when I have a Drs appt and I keep the speed under 50 mph. I never chance it on the Fwy. Can you offer advice?

Well sometimes the computer turns those systems off to keep the car from damaging its self because of other problems. So it may be something different. I know if you take your car to Autozone they will plug it into their diagnostic machine and check it for free. That might be a good way to start. Thanks for the question. Let me know what happens. - Ben

You may have to hold the button down a little longer to turn everything off. Some cars will turn off the Trac with a short press of the button, then will turn off ESC or Stability on the longer press.

HI - Finally a good description. Question... when the TCS is OFF... light is ON.... Is the drive train in 4 wheel drive or 2 wheel drive or powered with with 1 wheel (limited slip differential)?

    • Ben Lindsey Kia Love
Ben Lindsey Kia Love In reply to J Sen

Hey, Well that depends on what vehicle you have. The Trac will turn off whether it is in 2 or 4wheel drive. Most cars these days have a differential but it just depends on the make and model on how it operates. What do you drive?

I like your videos, I took my car to change the tires, but ever since they change my tires I have been having problems with the track lights, I would be driving and the light would turn on and it makes a sound like if the brakes are really tied and it won't let me drive more than 5 mph and is only in the left front tire that sounds like that, do you know what it might be?

It sounds like the brake is hanging up. Like sticking. They may have damaged a sensor in the wheel area. Like a wheel speed sensor or an ABS sensor. If it happened right after they worked on it, I would take it back to them as soon as you can. They might not want to admit it, but see if they will work with you to figure it out.

    • Ben Lindsey Kia Love
Ben Lindsey Kia Love In reply to Garth Downton

Well most cars won't let you turn it off while it is operating but just to be safe it is better to let it finish operating (flashing trac light) then turn it off if you need to. In other words in a situation where it is causing you to get stuck rather then keepibg you from getting stuck. Theres a chance if you turned it off while it was working that the tires might catch traction or cause a wheel to break loose or something like that. It probably wouldn't cause you to wreck or hurt the car but in slippery conditions its better to be cautious. Usually if the trac is working your attention is definitely on the road! Thanks for the question and for watching my channel.
