Dave surprises us with a new demo, a brand new 18 plate VW Golf GTD DSG with a few optional extras including 19" alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof and velour interior.

The VW Golf GTD produces 184bhp but how much torque does it produce? We'll find out in this video.

Cracking car lads - love it!
I have the GTD MK7 DSG and the MK7.5 R DSG, both brilliant cars and excellent power delivery in their own different ways, really good daily drivers and above all excellent quality and fun.
You're so right about the blue line GTD, seriously; WTF were VW thinking???
Also spot on about Auto's being the way forward to benefit driver safety, hybrid and tech development further.
You guys are spot on with your thoughts and reviews ;-)

Thanks for the comment AJ. Cracking driveway you have there, GTD and an R?!
With the Blueline maybe VW were just testing the waters to see if people are interested in that sort of car OR they had an obligation to bring it out after the diesel trouble.
Thanks for agreeing that we are always correct, we think so too! Ha 😂

In my humble opion, the old golf's were better than this modern day shit. 60mpg no chance. 50mpg if you are lucky. They use more fuel trying to regenerate most of the time. Mk5 tdi 140 pulls like a train in comparison. You have to rev the nuts off these new golf's to get them to move, no torque what so ever. On a positive note, the chassis is much much better, handle really well and the suspension is good on the back roads. I find the cruise control a bid difficult to use at times.

I think 240 is a bit strong 220 ish on the standard blower is pushing it ,
Manufactures as mentioned always leave a little room in their engines .
Mostly because for Longevity of the Engine and all over parts .
Also taking into account for people who don’t really maintain their cars so Fastidiously as perhaps a tuner would.
One example my Dads mk1 2003 Focus 1.6 ghia had it for years , hardly ever washes it. Only been serviced less than a Handful of times.
And yet it’s Not rusted , it runs well .
Seems to be reliable . Obviously a 1.6 n/a Engine is not tuneable but by tuning you take away those tolerances
So would need more frequent servicing and you’d get through more consumables such as tyres and brakes .

    • Stable Lease
Stable Lease In reply to Gary Doctor

That's tuned though isn't it? Manufacturers don't tend to push cars out with engines in tuned states. Usually like to leave a big of poke in the engine.

I cant speak for dynaudio but I opted for the Seat Sound package on my Cupra 300 DSG and it is a similar spec upgrade with a sub built into the boot. It sounds awesome without being like a halfords boom box special. I'm sure you'll love it when you tweak it to the right settings. Worth the money as someone who listens to music every journey.
