The "North American Specification" (NAS) Land Rover Defender is worth a lot more in North America than foreign imported Defender models. Today I'm explaining why the NAS Defender is so much more valuable than Defender models from overseas.

These were police cars for countryside and winter time where I grew up in Europe. Fucking beaters. My uncle had one specifically for hunting and fishing and he was not rich by any means. I could buy one for a couple of grand in decent condition there. I live in California now and this state keeps pissing me off with their bureaucratic idiocy. Oh well. I am not payin 75k for this thing even though it's probably my favorite vehicle of all time.

The illusion becomes real. It’s worth $75k if you think it’s worth $75k.

Well, yeah, and Doug also explained that US laws ban imports unless they’re older than 25 years old, and that California, where he now lives in, has extra regulations which basically ban any imported Defenders unless the owner is willing to take the car to Californian authorities to have the car tested and given a pass.
Given the insane regulations and not knowing even then if he’ll be allowed to drive the car where he lives, it makes sense for him to get a US-spec version, unless he wants to move to a different state.

Doug, in Britain its too often Tea time so they couldnt ship the 'fenders right in time...
This is one of the reasons why car makers like BMW next to others gave up to build cars in Britain. They're stuck in old behaviours as the sea-empire d not even more exist. Gladly.
