The XE hasn't lived up to expectations. I work for a direct supplier and sales of this car were only around 45,000 in 2016.

The Jaguar is a nice car, cheaper than its "BMW equivalent" but: cheap hard plastics, rear doors are small and awkward (your passengers will most likely bang their heads getting in).
However I liked the navigation system (clear big screen, good voice command), the driving position, the automatic gearbox is good, and in general the driving experience was good.
But BMW offers the same driving experience but better finished material and more comfort for your passengers.

All in all they're equal in terms of value for money, it just depends where your priority is. As a "business user" I'd rather get the 3 series.

The telling part is that the Jaguar beats BMW at its own game. Just surprised anyone could upsurp BMW in that aspect.

So you compare cars that no one buys and then say that the XE is cheaper to run?

+v0lterra What I meant when I said 'cars nobody buys' is they said the Jag is cheaper to run as a manual compared to the 3 as a manual. These days, people who buy these cars seldom buy manuals so I think at least, that there is a bit of patriotism or some kind of stuff in the background involved.

+Adrian Chua Q.Y. Umm. The depreciation factor is key for lease pricing. He was talking about P11D values and all that. That's all company car speak.
