Here is what I found after some search for "how a pilot gets out an Airbus":

Good Pilot. How many times did they have to ask him which side of the aircraft it was on. If it was my jet I'd would have got out and checked myself as well. It is sometimes the smallest of errors that cause the biggest incidents.

I would like to know how he went "outside" to close it? Disarm a door and walk out onto the wing?

The captain is responsible for the safety of the plane, flight, crew, and passengers. I dunno, I'd fly happily knowing the captain paid that kind of attention to detail.

Wouldn’t someone need to send him air stairs so he can deplane the aircraft?

You have to respect a pilot who will take care of the business himself.

No, ATC is humored by the fact that the underside of the A340 is about twenty feet off of the ground and *not* because the captain didn't trust anyone other than his own crew.

2:28 Astonishing stupid questions being asked here. MANY times already is has been said that the panel is BEHIND the RIGHT WING on the LOWER part of the fuselage. How fucking hard can it be? Besides: KNOW YOUR AIRPLANES!

I haven't been around Germans for decades, but when I was they always struck me as a "do it yourself" kind of people. They don't argue about who can authorize this or do that --- if they see a problem that can be personally fixed; they fix it and let you argue about it later.

A pilot wants to be sure his plane is ready to fly. If that door rips off during flight, and somehow rips away part of the fuselage or enters an engine, man, that's it. Down she goes.

This guy is great lol. Pilots prob love him as they get cheered up after a boring few hours of nothing over the Atlantic.
