The Alturas G4 is Mahindra’s latest flagship SUV. Basically a second-generation SsangYong Rexton, it is a direct rival to old-school SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. It promises a lot of value, but could it really be as good as the best? Nikhil Bhatia drives it to find out.

The prices are out! The Mahindra Alturas G4 costs Rs 26.95 lakh for the 4x2 and Rs 29.95 lakh for the 4x4 (prices are ex-showroom, and only introductory). Mahindra proudly claims it's the most expensive car to wear and Indian badge. But what do you think of the pricing? Comment below!

I don't understand why mitsubishi is not concentrating on Indian market... New mitsubishi pajero sport will kill all the SUV's which are in India if it launches. I'm using outlander used for decade still perfect condition. Until Mahindra doesn't provide buyback guarantee and engine warranty for 5 years alturas cannot compete with any other SUV.

Price little bit on the Higher Side won’t attract to many customer ..If they could keep the Price for both Variants Between 19 Lakhs to 22 Lakhs .. It might attract buyers & create stuff competition in this Segment

Why Indian makers dont put proper tires in their cars...
They are always oddly smaller for their body
This car needs at least 20 inch wheels
Engine is not impressive either for the size.
      I wont buy this car.

alturas on road price in ggn is 36 lakhs . and it has a diesel engine which means the car is going to be valid for ten years again a depreciation of 3.6 lakhs a year which means 30 k a month or a 1000 rs depreciation every day before the value turns to zero whether you drive or not . I really dont think investing so much money in a diesel suv makes any more sense

Alturas G4 is not only a strong compitaror of Toyota Fortuner & Ford Endeavor. It is also a a strong compitator of Skoda Kodiaq, MG Hector , upcoming TATA Buzzard, Honda CR-V, Volkswagen Tiguan , Isuzu MUX & all new Mitsubishi Pajero Sports. These seven SUVs are also in this segment of Fortuner, Alturas & Endeavor. 😊😊😊😊🙏🙏🙏🙏
