We review the new larger and more Americanized Tiguan. Choices in the CUV and SUV segment are growing like a disease and many shoppers want to choose a winner. Our top picks continue to be staples like the Mazda CX-5, Toyota RAV4, Honda CRV and Hyundai Tucson. Will this VW make the cut for families?

First review ever I've seen where a vehicle is put on a lift ...AWESOME!
Most reviews are so dumbed -down it's pathetic...not this one.
Mpg's are less than the competition that has CVT transmissions but good luck with longevity on those.
I'll take the Aisin transmission any day .
Fake exhaust tips stay way cleaner than real ones.
The S model and the SE I believe has a good bang for your buck . Any higher trim and your paying through the nose for expensive technology that you really don't need.
4 motion is way over sold IMO and I'm in northern Illinois..save your money. ( I currently have a AWD SUV and you pay a mileage penalty and also hard parts (for the AWD) are expensive to replace.)
It sounds like its softer riding than some VW,s, (and I have 2 ) which is fine by me as on a trip a firm ride can get annoying.
I don't plan on doing over 75mph anyways.

Simplicity IS the VW personality. Always has been going back to the development of the Kubelwagen and the original Volkswagen designed by none other than Ferdinand Porsche. Volkswagen is the "People's car", intended as cheap, functional and accessible to most people.

Looked at the 2019 yesterday. Gotta say, the outside is good. But, the interior is quite simply an epic fail. BORING. I agree seats are bad. Not good enough VW.

I'm guessing the part about it having a cardboard personality directed mostly at car enthusiasts, most people wouldn't give a damn about that. They want quality and they want it cheap and they want it to do everything.

Best review on the Tiguan I have seen! However, I think the optional third row is not as bad as you described. I am 5”8 and tested the third row myself. It is fine for short local trip to restaurant, mall or somewhere within 30mins trip. I only have a kid under 4yrs old and I think the third row is handy when friends or parents visit once in a while. Sliding the 1 row & 2nd row seats in front a little makes the 3rd row usable in a pinch. For longer overnight road trip with more than 5 people, I will just rent a minivan. The optional third row is what makes me consider this car. It’s 5+2 rather than a actual 7 seater. If you regularly need to use the 3rd row, then car length like this Tiguan is not what you should be looking at.

I just bought one of these 2019’s a week ago! I probably should have watched this review first. I’m about to watch it, hope he says good things about the Tiguan. 🙀 I like the boring personality of this vehicle.

I'm still laughing at the scene with you getting into the 3rd row. Funny!

maybe this is weird, but until VW figures out a way to not have the on-off sign spin with the nob, i'm not buying a VW.

I have watched a lot of Tiguan reviews. This guy and Motormouth are two fantastic reviewers who make a lot of sense.

Nice music sir. Very well done. Now if only VW and other manufacturers did anything to help buyers enjoy music today, the world would be a better place. Very good review. Thanks

Beauty is on the eyes of the beholder. Look at the higher trims and you will find it more attractive. Engine could use at least 25 more horses.

I am from India; most of the vehicles you review are not even present in my country. But, the fact you are simply one of best reviewer to me. You are precisely informative and do not do any kind of drama! Thank you from the core of my heart.
Only thing which I want too see in your videos is about the latest buzz feature; ambient light! Please provide night view of cars with interior lights too.

      Thank you. Respect from India!!

Mr Goose, any plans for a VW Atlas review? I just want to know your thoughts on its driving/handling. I've tested it several times but it's hard to get a good idea with a salesman in the back constantly going on about how it comes standard with carplay. That large segment is full of compromise so I'm pretty sure that the atlas is the right compromise for me. I value your opinion so would like to know what you think of it.
