We review the new larger and more Americanized Tiguan. Choices in the CUV and SUV segment are growing like a disease and many shoppers want to choose a winner. Our top picks continue to be staples like the Mazda CX-5, Toyota RAV4, Honda CRV and Hyundai Tucson. Will this VW make the cut for families?

I'm still laughing at the scene with you getting into the 3rd row. Funny!

maybe this is weird, but until VW figures out a way to not have the on-off sign spin with the nob, i'm not buying a VW.

Nice music sir. Very well done. Now if only VW and other manufacturers did anything to help buyers enjoy music today, the world would be a better place. Very good review. Thanks

Beauty is on the eyes of the beholder. Look at the higher trims and you will find it more attractive. Engine could use at least 25 more horses.

I am from India; most of the vehicles you review are not even present in my country. But, the fact you are simply one of best reviewer to me. You are precisely informative and do not do any kind of drama! Thank you from the core of my heart.
Only thing which I want too see in your videos is about the latest buzz feature; ambient light! Please provide night view of cars with interior lights too.

      Thank you. Respect from India!!

Mr Goose, any plans for a VW Atlas review? I just want to know your thoughts on its driving/handling. I've tested it several times but it's hard to get a good idea with a salesman in the back constantly going on about how it comes standard with carplay. That large segment is full of compromise so I'm pretty sure that the atlas is the right compromise for me. I value your opinion so would like to know what you think of it.

Excellent review. I just purchased this car and I would be 75% in agreement with you with everything you said. The 3rd row is ideal for small children but it works for us.

      184hp barely enough? Lol what
It's definitely more than enough for normal people, in europe that would already be considered a lot lol. Most SUV's of this size got around 150hp here, I think the Ford Escape is even offered with 120.

Vermillion Well first of all, when people are just throwing money out there, they tend to not care what it takes to drill for oil and refine it into gasoline and what it took to manufacture these things. Just like women that buy very expensive handbags to try and look wealthy. Secondly, people in USA are generally not self aware or have much perspective. Just like the nuclear arms race, it is completely unnecessary to support mutually assured destruction.

+James Medina It's kinda nuts what some car reviewers are saying about the engines in certain cars. They seem to forget that tons of people just wanna get to work/shopping without doing drag races or drive on the track. I used to have a Golf V with 80HP and even that objectively undermotorized car was totally fine for what I wanted to do with it.

+fundiver198 Many car people just don't seem to realize that like 90% of other people out there just wanna get from A to B instead of having fun or being fast at a green light.
Then again, seeing how even out fucking minivan had 278HP when I was in the usa for work, people got a different perception of what's necessary and what's not.

10 years ago the 4,0 liter V6 Mustang only produced 200 hp, but apparently car reviewers have a short memory.

So, I test drove the 2018 Tiguan the other day while getting my GTI oil change at the stealership. I remembered watching this review and was thinking my beloved Mr. Geese is absolutely spot on! What a boring vehicle to drive, and those fake exhaust ports, lmao omg! Really VW? REALLY!? That being said, for the price it is okay, but lacks any sort of character. I'll take anything else over it except the Ford Escape.
