Today, I review the brand new 2019 Honda Civic SI. If you're in the market for a fun to drive sedan that can be used as a daily driver, this is the car you should be looking at. 200 HP mated to a 6-speed manual and that's only the start!

I just bought a 2019 SI Coupe in that same pearl white color a few days ago. I'm very happy with it. The one thing I would have liked would have been embedded navigation, however I'm getting used to the Android auto Google Maps and it has a cool feature with satellite view for the maps which I think is pretty awesome and more than makes up for not having its own invented navigation. In the past I have had a 2006 SI Coupe and a 2013 SI Coupe. I was really not that impressed in the long term for the 2013. I did really like the 2006 when I had it. That being said I think the 2017 and up SI is the best yet. I think they look great in sedan and Coupe forms. I would have also liked to have seen the Honda Safety Systems available and the SI, but a great overall value and a good fun little car.

Great car except for the rear. It just makes no sense that they took those huge plastic pieces from the hatches and tacked them onto the sedan. It just totally ruins the look. They should have given the Si sedan the same bumper treatment as the Si Coupe which is way better.

I have the 2019 SI and the aggressive looking front end is my favorite aspect of the car. The back end not so much. I really get off on hearing the turbocharged motor wind out. Thanks for cool review.

I have the Civic Sport; not quite an SI but still fun and can get about 40mpg if I drive slow haha. With that said if you put it in sport mode and beat on the car it will get about 32mpg which is great when you are averaging 90mph.

      Lol must be nice.
My Si gets 27.1 mpg just normal driving in the city but once I floor it in Sport Mode... It quickly starts going down. I think I could get 40mpg but it's not made to save gas so 😅

You put it so well man! The human element in driving is being pushed aside. People forget just how nice it actually is to shift yourself, to be in control of the car to a much higher degree. :)

What external microphone are you using on the windshield mounted GoPro?

The Civic is a sports car on a budget now. I was looking into the WRX & the Si offers so much more. I felt like the WRX was the STI's left overs. It looks so plain, overpriced, & cheap.

just tested 2019 civic si, 2018 wrx and 2016 gti. civic si felt like you're a pilot in the cockpit when driving and had best shifter and clutch out of the three. wrx felt very planted with its low center of gravity and definitely packs more of a punch when you hit the gas. gti felt like a good balance between the 2 but just kind of felt numb driving. wrx clutch is HEAVY compared to the other two. drove the civic si like i had driven it my whole life and rev matches came effortlessly {never driven a honda manual before}. wrx on the other hand took some getting used to and i was just more hesitant in general driving it. that old saying "its more fun to drive a slow car fast than drive a fast car slow" came to mind in the wrx. barely even gave it gas and i was already doing 70, couldn't really wring out all the gears without fear of getting a ticket haha. also if you drive a lot for work/school the civic will save you 500-1000 a year in gas alone so have to put that into total cost of ownership. overall thoughts are: Civic SI: sporty, practical, cheapest to own over course of ownership. WRX: fast, looks great, least dailyable out of all unless you dont mind a heavy clutch. gti: meh. maybe i should have tested a newer one but first thing that happened when i turned it on was a low oil pressure code and it only had 15000 miles haha. supposed to be cpo'd as well so just kinda left a bad taste in my mouth and will not be purchasing a vw even if they are decently reliable.

If the exhaust stuck out too much, it could get damaged or hit. At least it is protected under the bumper.

I think Honda Engineers made a very big mistake with those boomerang tail-lights. I hate my 19" Accord Sport tail lights too. All those useless vents. The Civic Si has amazing lines, its those stupid vents front and back, and the tail lights. YUCK

I'm very seriously considering purchasing this car (coupe version only) at the end of the year, when they'll be on clearance. I've seen a few reviews on this car in years from '17-19, and I think this guy did the best one.

I watched your video and went and test drove one myself. All I can say is wow. It's an amazing car! One thing I disagree with is the down shifting was super easy to do without having to add any gas. My mistake was that I took your evaluation into serious consideration and once I realized I knew how to drive the car I just did my thing. Everyone is different. Your video got me to go test drive and now I'm seriously looking into to buying one! Thank you!
