Yeah he gti is probably faster stock than the wrx but that’s because it’s light. I love both cars but the wrx looks way nicer and most probably will pick how the wrx looks over the gti. I’m deciding between both of these cars. It’s a hard choice and it would help if someone gives me tips/ things I should know

The 3rd-gen VW EA888 turbo 2.0L engine according to APR's dyno is running 235 hp and 270 ft-lbs (both crankshaft ratings) with the stock car. VW under-rates the power. With a simple flash-only tune, APR (stage 1) brings that up to 305 hp and 371 ft-lb (crank).

Lifted_Above Ik that’s crazy I want to get one for my first car but my dad said he’s not going to help me buy any German car🤦🏻‍♂️. I can got a 2016 for like 16k and mod it, I will have a lot of power with a premium build.

Nice vid, thanks. Well, since I have an '18 WRX limited, I'll have to say WRX. However I know what you mean about the class factor and fit and finish of the VW. I think if I went that route I'd get an Audi though.

These were my 2 cars I was shopping for, 2014 WRX Hatchback or 2016 GTI, and have I already experienced rides in WRX the 2014 Hatchback was the same problem, rattles, road noise, just did not like way interior is put together, and yes a flat four will handle much better than inline transverse mounted. you are correct about the steering wheel on GTI, how it kind of goes plastic with age. Like you have had GTI's in the past so bought 2016 GTI.

I have never liked VW. Never ever. Idk why but I just don't like them. If you offered me 1 for free I wouldn't accept it. I own a 2019 WRX and I love it

The GTI has better rear headroom and legroom, and the trunk on the WRX is pretty meh.

I can't stop watching these comparison videos and I still cannot decide between going with a 2019 GTI or a 2019 WRX. I'm leaning towards the WRX for AWD (I live in Seattle and I feel the AWD would be more beneficial out here in the long run) but I have heard that for daily commuters the GTI is overall a better pick with its overall nicer interior and tech...along with better insulation from road noise. I'm torn.... I'm going with automatic transmission for the record (hate all you want but, I just never learned to drive manual)

Kira Z I have a mk5 gti and with winter tires it’s just as good as either of my parents cars which r both awd. Live in Pittsburgh btw. Plus yeah it’s got a nicer interior and better gas mileage and if u get a tune it’s faster than a wrx all while being waaaaay cheaper for insurance

bro you are actually stoopid. awd vs 4wd is different. GTI does not idle at 1500, also the 4.7 0 to 60 was that last gens STI not for the WRX. idiot.

Since it's just the GTI is why. The STI would be better compared to the Golf R.

Volkswagen is not the only automaker that has introduced what the industry knows as "engine sound enhancement systems".

BMW, Porsche, Ford and some of the biggest sellers of cars are turning to them, although increasingly they are careful to announce the presence of these devices in their models.

According to experts, these types of systems are common today, especially in sports cars and large cars such as vans to counteract certain technological improvements that have made it increasingly difficult to hear the engine, such as sound-deadening turbocompressors or soundproof interiors .

In addition, the US environmental and fuel consumption regulations. They have forced manufacturers to design smaller, and therefore less noisy engines, Eddie Alterman, the editor-in-chief of Car and Driver magazine, told BBC World.

GTI is a nice care if not a little boring looking. WRX own's it on the street digging or 30 roll. On top of all that with a $80 OTC flash you get 50HP and 60lbs all else stock, over 300 HP & lbs. Engine sounds great with out playing sound games, just real engine sounds.

I had a 2013 GTI and now a 2015 WRX.  The GTI was great but had annoying reliability issues.  The drivers side door sensor did not work which led to other issues (dead battery a couple of times).  It burned a quart of oil every three weeks.  VW parts are super expensive. The WRX so far has been rock solid.
