i hope you notice this sir , is it really applicable that you need to still slowly release the clutch when you downshift in second gear in low speed? and what will happened if you release it fast just like how you upshift the gear ? thanks sir

will the motorcycle in second gear still stall just like how you start the motorcycle while on 1st gear by releasing it fast after you downshift?

Is this the gear pattern? 1-N-2-3-4? How to go back to neutral? I saw u switch from 1st to 2nd and vice versa.

so holding down the clutch you can go straight down to first gear? you dont have to release clutch every gear right?

Albo Sang In reply to TheUnknown

TheUnknown no... First has a very slow speed. So taking from 3 to 1 directly will cause trouble, I guess.. Cos bike is rollin in high speed and suddenly engine is put into a slow speed.. It will damage engine or gear..
But if you are in speed range of first it is okay I guess.. I am also learning it..

Let's just say your coming to a stop and your in 4th or 5th gear you bring your clutch in then come to stop then gear down all the way to 1st ... Basically not gearing down through all gears as you coming to the stop ..does that not harm your engine or does it ?

Albo Sang In reply to ste mak87

ste mak87 if you stop bike completely, shifting to 1 is okay..then you can start rolling again.. Cos 1st is gear to start rolling.. Otherwise you have to match the gear and speed..

Quick question; So every time you switch gears, you pull in the clutch? Is that it basically? I'm planning on getting a bike, a Kawasaki 250, but I've never ridden a bike before. I am mechanically inclined but I have always had trouble understanding clutches and manual transmissions. I know that when you shift gears, you can either watch the rpms or listen to it to know when to shift. I just want to get this straight; pull in clutch to switch gears then let off?

Richx Gang In reply to Jazmyn Warner

Jazmyn Warner yeah exactly you need to press the clutch so you can shift gears to higher speed or lower speeds its like this hold clutch shift up then hit the throttle but you need to do that so smoothly .... Its easy you need just to practice
