The Top Gear trio's attempt to make their one thousand pound Alfas look good come hilariously unstuck as they line up on a race track against some speedy, and frankly, much more reliable cars!

So they brought neglected alfa's to a track, flogged them and then acted surprised when the old, delicate and unmaintained performance machines broke down?

Alfa's are the most fun you can have with your clothes on! Partly thanks to these 3 guys, I've been able to start my own Alfa Romeo channel - if you like 'em too, check it out!

people critical of alfas always point out the flaws (over engineering, break down all the time, are ridiculousley expensive to fix, ridiculousley expensive to buy, etc.)
whilst alfa lovers only ever point out that alfas are great
      never why
      just that they are

"...but soon they were coming thick and fast." Being American, I understand that we use English a bit differently than the British, but really? That was the best phrasing to describe the issues on the track? My amazement is squirting hard and far.

make no mistake alfa romeos arent the most reliable cars in the world but they also bought beaten up examples with a very poor maintainance history so it's no surprise if their cars were failing constantly

If an Alfa is abused through lack of regular oil and water changes, then they die horribly, or are basket cases like these 3 cars. If they are maintained with regular oil changes, and checked on every saturday for oil and water, and maintenance kept up (which is as expensive these days as a VW), then they last and last. And, most importantly, in our modern day and age, parts are now plentiful and easy to come by thanks to the internet. These were cheap abused Alfa's, but a cheap abused VW, Audi, or BMW will be as bad, if not worse !
