I was working security at a mall.
I rolled by to see two ladies attempting a jump start.
I rolled up at Exactly the moment the smoke started and leapt into action snatching the cables off. The clamps were already glowing orange hot, good thing I didn't grab and hold them more than a half second.

I burned up the fuel pump running out of gas before. I had just bought the car and did not know that the fuel gauge didn't work. I thought I had gas but had run out. Cost $400 to replace. Never got the gauge fixed. Just filled up every 200 miles and reset the trip meter.

You didn't mention brake fluid. When I was into autocross, I changed my brake fluid every 3 to 5 years. I had learned that brake fluid absorbs moisture and repeat thermal cycling caused the fluid to break down, increasing stopping distances.
On the coolant change, I'm wondering what you think about the "coolant recharge" kits or alternatives such as Evans Waterless Coolant?

      Former medic.
Got a call for splash burn. The driver checked his radiator antifreeze while it was hot.
Unscrewed the cap, force of hot fluid sent the cap into his forehead and splashed his fsce with scalding hot antifreeze.
He even had an indent in his forehead from the cap hitting him so hard!!

My 2010 Hyundai Sonata's cooling fan and a/c stopped working recently, and I believe it is because I accidentally jumped it with the jumper cables backwards while in turn frying something. I have further evidence of this because I checked the refrigerant level and it seems to be at the right level. Any ideas of what I could try to fix myself without taking it into the shop?
