Raptor is the best looking man's truck out there. But it is highly over priced, full of plastic and as fat as hell. If you drive baja or are a poser it is the truck for you. For the rest of us, there are several better options.

I'm curious. I prefer the looks and "compactness" of the SuperCab variant, but I'm inexperienced in this area and I don't know whether SuperCab would be large enough. I have two small kids riding at the back, two dogs, tons of gear, etc... Most of the time I drive alone in my car, of course, but as a general most utilitarian car in the family, I don't want to end up regretting going for the SuperCab. What do you think in regards of the SuperCab vs. SuperCrew? By the way I'm from Europe, we have much smaller roads here than in the US so a bit shorter vehicle is a big plus.

Lukáš Duběda In reply to Lukáš Duběda

@King Daniel Yeah, everything is smaller in Europe and also the strict environmental laws and regulations here aren't really in favour of huge V8 monsters like we can see in the US. But the Raptor checks most of my "wants" and "needs" for being a V6, powerful, cool looking, utilitarian and overall useful. It's huge, though, so that's a minus, but I personally don't like the Ranger and Amarok is unnecessarily expensive for waht you get and only comes with a diesel (I don't want a diesel). Regarding SUVs, I've had a couple Range Rovers and I don't want them anymore. X6 was a totally useless waste of money. Nowadays Touareg is ridiculously overpriced. And if you want to go the luxury route, Cayenne is pretty good, but again, I'd destroy the interior pretty soo, which is a huge shame, G500 is also pretty cool, but again, way too luxurious.

    • King Daniel
King Daniel In reply to Lukáš Duběda

The Raptor isn't exactly made for hauling or towing. Why not just get a regular suv? I'm not saying get a bare bones suv but I wouldn't get a luxury suv either. The thing about a supercab is, your children are small now but they'll get bigger. If you're driving your family around, a super crew makes more sense than a supercab. I've had both and a super crew or crew cab is much better. I didn't realize there were many offerings of full size trucks in Europe. I know Fiat sells the Ram there, which I would personally avoid like a plague, but I was under the impression that most pickups there were the compacts: Ranger, Amrok, Hilux, Navara, etc.

Lukáš Duběda In reply to Lukáš Duběda

@King Daniel Yeah, well, I did have SUVs. Currently have one. But I also need the utility of a pickup truck. I always carry a ton of shit that simply ruins the luxury SUVs I've head. I was contemplating buying a Cayenne or G500, but I'd destroy the luxurious interior :( That's why I'm thinking about buying a Raptor.

GM and dodge are idiots to not come out with a competitor to this, the raptor has been out for like 6 years now and it sells great considering its price, and stupid GM and dodge have nothing to compete with this except the pathetic ram rebel. ford is the only one with the balls to come out with a vehicle like this.

I have a 2017. They’re good investments too. They hold their value super well, they’re super fun to drive, they turn heads, the off-road capability is the best you can get from the factory. If you can justify paying the money up front, you can have a ton of fun for a few years and sell it only having lost 10-15k in depreciation

I agree raptor is an amazing truck however for $30,000 less the zr2 is just as good if not better in all offroad situations besides 60plus mph across the desert. However on the trail with the lockers in the zr2 and the narrow width it's no comparison zr2 all day.

A new High end Lamborghini about the same as a Honda Civic Type R at 0-10 mph on the road.. you take a ZR2 any day becuz your $level is not there to drive a raptor. True?
