Thanks for the info. I’ll have to look you up over there. A 470 or 460 will be our off road vehicle as our 2016 Tacoma was traded for our 2018 Tundra. The Tundra is Too nice to pinstripe!!

I have 2.5 Toytec Coilovers in front with the sway bar spacer. In back I pulled the stock air bags and put in 2” ICON lift springs, with Firestone air bags inside, and 2.0 ICON shocks. Then the underside is protected with ASFIR aluminum skid plates from Israel and OPOR sliders from Metal Tech.
Plus many many years of off-road trail driving and knowing the lines to take it easy on the rig since it had to drive back to San Diego. For more help visit the IH8MUD forum and go to the 120 section where there are a LOT more of us GX guys!

I would like to get a 2007 because of the upgraded engine. Slightly higher hp and torque. Depending on prices. It has to be under 12k. And because Its a land cruiser but luxury version. I know that they are highly reliable, one of the greatest off road rigs, etc....And because they are cheap! You can find some from 8-12k. From 100k-150k miles. I know what Toyota is capable of, since I used to own an FJ. The V8 power, 3rd row seats, and full time 4x4/AWD. I am most likely getting on in 1-2 weeks. Super excited! Or if i can find an FJ for 10-12k ill get that instead(under 150k miles). +J M

No & No, Brand new All Terrain ties due to 20,000 miles a year is put on this truck. And I was at 18psi, you can see good flex in the sidewalls in the video. The All Terrains did better then all my buddies in MT Tires with the exception of the water hole and the water fall where I was strapped both times.

I'm new to off roading and in the market for the GX. Will keep the bags for a bit. Would you suggest the underside skid plates before bumpers? I'm in Colorado (will learn from Army brothers) and happened to work Parts for Lexus during the 05+ 470 years :D

You don't have to do crazy stuff like Moab but just get the tires dirty and explore that dirt road that leads up that mountain or through that forest! Hit the center lock button and exerciser the 4 wheel drive on the Sexy Lexy! You won't regret it and it won't let you get stuck.

This size tire did not require the body mount chop but any larger would require it. Fenders have not been trimmed either. Just removed the stick steps and installed sliders.

Get a rear door from a prado 120 and the rear tank will give you 180L of fuel and better departure angle.

No nerve needed I did this stuff 12 years ago with a 96' 80 Series Land Cruiser now I am doing it with an 05 Lexus. It's a 13 year old truck that is a Toyota 4Runner / FJ Cruiser with a nicer and quieter Lexus Cab.

Actually the All Terrains did better then the other three rigs with Mud Terrains with the exception of the mud whole and the waterfall at the end of Golden Bar. Since this truck has gotten 60,000 miles on it over three years I had to go with AT's not MT's But that will change soon now that I have a new car for work and my wife will get her own car as she is currently daily driving the GX since July.

      @ Luke Metzger
, Deffinitely get the GX. It's an AMAZING rig!! Fully stock it is just downright damn capable, despite being UBER comfortable on the road, quiet as hell and power to spare. I'm rolling an '07 GX sport (with KDSS) and live in Moab. Bluetribal's lift is great (a little easier without KDSS), and sliders are key (also more options w/o KDSS) and am psyched to see his new Coastal bumper. Mine's stock save 265*70 17 tires and a 0.75" front leveling spacer which lifts the front skids 1.5" off the ground. I'm careful with this kind of lift and know it's weaknesses, but at 1.5" "lift, it's within the margin of safety for the shock, plus I've lowered the bump stops to ensure they functions.

Blue tribal has wheeled some great trails and a solid 2" lift, like he's done, (down the road but in the cards when my airbags fail, but hopefully not for a number of years yet) is the way @Jimmy Augustine
should go as well.. Seven Mile Rim, Fins n things, trails in The Maze and Elephant hill in the Needles are great trails that I've done stock, Hell's Revenge is on the radar and Lockhart basin trail to canyonalnds as an overnight (pulled it off in my Subaru years ago...).

      Get the the GX!!!

Jimmy Augustine look at the prado point Australia site in the 120 section, prado 120 grande is the same in terms of suspension. Mine I kept the airbags and fitted 2” lifted bags from airbag man. There’s lots of info on that site about lifts bar work etc.

Bluetribal33 In reply to Luke Metzger

+Jimmy Augustine, Forget the rims and use that money to get you either the Metal Tech or Southern Style Offroad spring adapter kits, ICON rear springs, and rear shocks. The rear end is cheap compared to the front 2.5 coilovers. Rims just get scratched if you really wheel it which you really will be doing in Colorado and Moab! I just saw a guy in Death Valley this weekend that was bouncing down the trail on his bump stops because his tricked/lifted air bags finally blew and now he wasn't sure what he was going to do to get his rig home to the Bay area.
