Love my 1.0. But at least I now have a face to blame for the $16 spark plugs. At least there's only 3 of them.

A lubricated belt that lasts the life of the vehicle. This is where i turned the video off.

Because it's a terrible idea, a wet belt. Should of used a dry chain.

ECO my arse. My new Ford Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost does 47 MPG on average, exactly the same as my old Ford Fiesta 1.4. But at least a reduction in road tax is welcome.

I have an Eco sport ST line , I love the engine it has an awesome sound( like a V6) my only grip is it hits the limiter too quick and if I switch of the esp/traction control in the wet it becomes skittish and spins up the drive wheel, yes I'm an old school boy racer at 48 yrs old

I have the ford focus se ecoboost 1.0 liter excellent car. Thought it would be slow but was the opposite. Smooth driving experience but little lag when accelerating. Overall great car if you want speed and save gas good balance between both.

There was something wrong with three cylinder engines... I can't quite remember what it was, but nobody seemed to know about it until Geo started making them. Haven't seen any since then.

They should make this a 5 stroke add the extra piston and make it a 4 cyl.

I can't believe Ford used a timing belt inside the engine running in oil, whilst I agree that the belt will run very quietly oil and rubber are not a good combination,I hope the hot oil doesn't attack the belt because it will just dissolve causing major damage to the whole engine,a chain would have been the better option for reliability, time and mileage will be the test for these engines but Ford usually let the customer do the testing for them leaving the customer to pick up the bill.

Was the camera man pissed, keep the camera still on the subject then move in when showing what the presenter is talking about. Thanks for explaining about the new engine but I am not too sure about a cam belt that does not need changing, surely it will degrade over time.

I have been driving a 1.0 ecoboost (125ps) Fiesta for the last four years and it has not missed a beat. This is a great engine which gives super performance.

I have the 1.0L 123hp 2014 Fiesta sfe eco boost. All I have done is oil change and tires and am at 75k kilometers. Owned since 2016 and it hasn’t skipped a beat either. The thing loves cruising at 140 all day long. And I mean I literally drove it at 140km/h all day (only stopping to refuel on Empty, then driving again) on some road trips and she just purrs along no problem. Amazing littles engine. If you’re good stick shifter you can surprise a lot of people off the get

This is a very outdated tech, just because the narrator sounds sophisticated doesn’t mean the technology is. This is more than 20 year old European/Asia tech that started with Nissan and most European manufacturers had this tech then. Just naming this tech Eco...... doesn’t mean it’s unique and or new. There is a much better and new engine tech that puts this tech to shame, however many engine manufacturers r scared of this new tech because it makes their existing engine tech obsolete. Yes obsolete. Engine manufacturers wastes more time fighting outside ideas then embracing it. This new tech can easily be verified. Should u need a proof, just ask. Good luck digesting this.

going to have to change my 1.6 L ford for a 1.0 ecoboost just wondering about the wisdom of having a timing belt running through the engine oil. possible contamination of oil? slip of belt and how costly to change belt or will that not be required.
or would a diesel be a better option?

I'm looking to get new 2018 Ford with 1.0 ecoboost. However I've found much problems in US spec larger EcoBoost engines, problems with carbon buildup on valves and Ford generally saying only remedy to replace whole cylinder head. Also new RS Focus seems to have pitiful problems with it's cylinder heads leaving customers in grief and completely ruining Ford brand. What is the status in 2018 with EcoBoost, especially in european models??
