The 2019 Ford Ranger is the revival of the Ford Ranger name. The Ford Ranger is back in the United States, and today I'm reviewing the 2019 Ford Ranger to show you if the new Ranger is good enough to square off against close pickup truck rivals.

What a disappointing attempt to comeback. At least GM tried and made a new truck.

This really looks like a 1990's F150 with some modern junk thrown in + a ranger name badge

The people that drive Rangers immediately jolt to the left lane and do 20 under the limit enraging 50 people behind them. Its probably the most emasculating vehicle ever. Only men with Low T or mid-crisis gents drive these

Doug, will you review a Nissan Frontier Pro-4x? It's the same body style for 12 years now and still outsells the new body style Ranger

Was waiting for the ranger to come back out to replace my 16 yr old one, a ranger is a small truck, not a mid size. Bought my first toyota tacoma instead.

Ford is definitly lying. In Germany we will be able to buy a Ranger Raptor soon. Ok, it is only a Diesel but it's a Raptor.

There IS a Ranger Raptor in other countries I don’t know why Ford didn’t introduced it in North America

My brother and I test drove one of the new rangers and HATED IT. It's louder than my 2015 f150 with the 5.0L V8. It's way too "rev happy" because of that turbo and shifts WAY too often when you don't want too and doesn't when it should. We believe it needs two thing which I know will never happen because everyone is 4 cylinder turbo happy. It needs a STICK SHIFT and a v6 engine. I would say the 3.3L V6 would be an ideal engine for the ranger. Those two things could make this truck 1000 times better. That's our opinion of the Ford "Ranger".

I feel like this truck is being compared to and scored the same as every other vehicle he tests. Acceleration is a 2/10? Wtf? Are you comparing it to a Tesla Model S P100D? This thing should score a lot higher compared to other trucks, and why do ALL of the trucks you test score so lowly?

      Looks more like a early 2000’s F150.
That’s too big to be considered a Ranger.

philglassfan Honestly I feel that here in Africa the Ranger has been outselling the Frontier(otherwise known as the Navara ),ever since Ford released the 2011 version, all they have done is stick some new headlamps onto it,and ever since last year when the Frontier first went on sale in South Africa and surrounding countries,it has since been bought basically as much as the Ranger, which could mostly be because Nissan went with a full on body reshape, instead of a bleak face-lift like what Ford did

      Sorry Doug,
You're the one showing stupidity because clearly you never heard of cannibalization.
A Ranger Raptor would enter base- F150 Raptor prices, and would require additional horsepower, thus taking away the purpose of buying the bigger truck.
Similarly, overseas where F150s are sold, the Raptor version doesn't exist, because the price tag would be ludicrous for those markets.
It would further hurt sales of the upcoming Bronco.

To the dumbasses who bitch about the size of the Ranger:
It's 2019... Safety standards, towing capacity, payload, technology, comfort, consumer demand, hence purpose, requirements and compromises with size and design.
      Check out this video:
The Ranger is quite a bit smaller than the F-150.
Trucks, both full-size and mid-size, are becoming full-time family vehicles, and recreational vehicles, thus demand for more room, better seating, more technology, etc.
Higher standards in safety mean more metal, more crumple zones, more safety features and components.
Bigger engines, more horsepower, = bigger vehicles.

      Cheers gents
