My short Demonstration on what happens even when you turn them off. The computer still senses the tires spinning/slipping and tries to regulate the RPMs and braking.
This Toggle switch I wired in to BYPASS the computer for on demand offroad use, without having to pull fuse #9 under the hood.

Nice little truck in your nice little neighbor hood . You drive an under powered truck that is 1 notch above wimpy. My 2016 Colorado Z-71 2WD 3.6 is equipped  with an 8 psi boost RiPP Superchargerthat bangs out 409 RWHP and that is a seriously fun as hell truck to drive.  The RiPP kit is what your Colorado needs.

+Jeff17s Man I saw Tess Performance you tube showing 330 rwhp and why anyone would call these guys to get a 60 HP add o mine is a Vortex too and it takes a skilled tuner to get it right . my install got 138 extra HP . Hot paint wheels and nice big tires are cool but a Colorado with 400+ HP is something to talk about

It looks like I'm going to have to do the same thing to my 2006 Yukon Denali because my traction active light comes on and reduces horsepower exactly like your video and messes me up on the highway or even on the red light but when I switch traction control off no that stuff happens but my stability is also off not a bad idea

I need my truck to do more than just tip toe like a nancy pants dammit. When shit gets hairy sometimes you need MORE power, not less. I'm just worried that bypassing these annoying restrictive components might mess something up. You know how cars are these days. You pull the dome light out and suddenly you need to replace the entire computer system.

Truck is wimpy on power? My Z-71 Colorado has a Vortex supercharger installed by RiPP and makes 410 rear wheel Dynoed power . 98 mph speed limiter disabled 130 mph is fast.

2011 tahoe ltz traction control and stabilizing light on. This happened after we put new wheels and tires and realignment done. Also around the same time we put a cold air intake on it. We had no issues with the warning lights until we did all that. We put it on a coder and it's saying C0253 and C0710. Again no issues with the warning lights until we did the add on to the tahoe.

Any suggestions on why/what may have caused it. I cleared the codes but after driving a little while it came back on.

Your and sensor is going bad or had already been damaged. There are two of these systems in your vehicle. Find a mechanic that you don't mind paying around 200 and that mechanic, a real one will fix this issue if it's the and sensor. When a proper scan tool is used a person can single out the signal from the abs monitors and tell what it's doing. If this isn't the abs, the same scan tool should read transmission tail shaft speed. This will cause limp mode. The throttle position sensor has a known yellow wire corrosion connection on some early 2000 model trucks. This makes the truck have a dead throttle pedal. Tm runs, but only a very slow speed will be available. This is also something a mechanic should see in his testing with a scanner. The scanning is a service many people get angry to pay for. This service performed by an educated person is very valuable. Saves time and money from being wasted. In general the entire cost of your fix should range from 200 to I'd say a maximum of 350. Depending on what parts need replaced. I'm a mechanic, have been for many years.

Amazing series of videos. I have a 2007 Chevy 1500 LTZ 4x4 with a 6.5" Zone suspension lift and 35s with the same problem. I haven't gotten stuck yet, but I've come close - only because the truck was fighting me by killing the revs when I needed good wheelspin. I'm just trying to get to remote hunting and fishing destinations, not trying to get stuck. It really pisses me off when I see that stupid traction light flashing after I already took the time to turn it all the way off.

Anyway, I'm mostly done with the install. It's past midnight, so I'll finish tomorrow. I just wanted to take the time to let you know that I really appreciate the info you've shared. FWIW, my fuse was #10. Pulled it with the truck running and the correct lights came on immediately. Cut the big red wire (with the fuse back in place) and they came right back on. I've spliced it and gotten it (and some rear aux LED switch wires) through the firewall. Tomorrow I just have to hook up the switches and run power back to the lights. Thanks Jeff17s!

T Yomama has nothing to do with it being lifted off the ground. Maybe by the 2015 models GM/chev has fixed this problem. Though you probably didn't consider the fact that it's an 09 in the video cause you're an idiot.....

Nick Carver it's not. I have a '15. Turn off stabilitrac, get in mud and it will rip. I think his issue is due to lifting it off the ground. I hold the traction button for the 5 seconds and I can get through the redline and hit the governor.

Howdy Bud, I found your video on one of the forums. Is pulling the fuse the exact same as the switch you wired? I went to wire in the switch but wanted to test the idea first, by pulling the fuse. I pulled the fuse, but no cel or TC light came on. In your video you can see the lights come on basically confirming the tc and abs is inoperable.

    • Scott Hoobery
Scott Hoobery In reply to Scott Hoobery

Well like I stated, my pick up is a 2500hd, so I believe that is why the steps in this vid didn't work. The Answer for me was : There is a bigger/different fuse than the one OP talks about in vid, it is also labled ABS but its one of the big square black ones. When I pulled that, then the lights came on the dash indicated that there was abs and Tc "issues" then I was able to get wheel spin with ease. I guess the diff would be the pickup in the vid is not a 2500 and mine is so they must have a bit diff wiring because when I pulled the fuse mentioned in vid no lights came on and TC and ST still activated.
