We have a 428 cobra jet crankshaft and a 1969 r code vin plate. Do you know the value of these items?

The 69 VIN also appeared on both fender aprons, stamped in, and were covered by the fender. If someone managed to have that vin plate reproduced that you posses then it would already be in use on a car out there somewhere. I would have your local DMV run the vin to make sure it's not from a wrecked or stolen car. Any legitimate car person , shop or builder would never risk attempting to put that vin on another car as that is highly illegal. Point being that tag by itself isn't worth much.

@MustangConnection1 it is the dash vin plate.we found these in a storage container we cleaned out.

Hard to say, when you say vin plate do you mean the dash plate ? Technically that vin plate unless it's attached to a car is worthless and cannot legally be sold so I would be careful with that one. Ebay is a good enough place to get an idea on the value. They are difficult to ship so that might limit you to a swap meet or local pick up type sale.

I'll never understand how people can get a car to end up in such unbelievably horrible condition. I could buy a new car, keep if for 80 years and it wouldn't look anything like these. some people can f*** up an anvil.

You said the blue 69 convertible was a 351 Windsor car. Don't you mean 351 Cleveland?

    • MustangConnection1
      MustangConnection1 In reply to mrwp819300

No that is a Windsor, no Cleveland engine in 1969 in Mustangs. Even in 70 the H ( 2 barrel) code 351 could be either a Windsor or Cleveland.

yeah there's plenty of old cars out there, 24 out of 25 of them are owned by someone who's said for 30+ years “I'm gonna restore it/them”...just like my great uncle said about all of his cars. I watched all(except one, I was able to rescue it) of my great uncles cars slowly rust and dissolve away, the one the bothered me the most was a 1968 Shelby gt500 convertible he bought in the 70's without a engine or the 4-speed trans. He wouldn't sell that car “for love or money”..... until he saw a fully restored one sell at Barrett-jackson for a stupid amount of money, he figured his was worth as much as a house.

I think they were called "Turbines" as they mimic the look the fins on a large jet engine.
