We go behind the scenes with Bigfoot, the world's original monster truck, to see how such a machine can regain the Guinness World Records' Longest Ramp Jump by a Monster Truck record on another episode of How'd They Do That.

Shock compression and decompression should be measured against ramp elevation. Too much spring in the back or the front on launch will affect distance and landing.

"Monster Truck" ... Obviously the emphasis is on monster, pay no attention to the fact that it doesn't look like a truck. Looks more like a 1:1 scale of an RC offroad crawler...

If you have to make a new vehicle specifically for the record instead of using a vehicle meant for monster-truck competitions/performances, does it still count as a monster-truck?

'feathers the throttle in the air'. that's one way to say he still had it pinned it to the floor and let the rev limiter do it's job

Couple issues with the analysis........ 1. The tachometer that is displayed shows idle RPM as he flies through the air 2. One of the main reasons he kept a high RPM and forward wheelspin was to keep the nose from pitching forward. Brakes and wheelspin affect body roll while in the air.

There’s a lot of pride and I’m sure a lot of the guys much like myself that are purists appreciate the fact that they use a Ford motor in a Legendary Ford built monster truck. That’s fuckin awesome man. Sure Chevy is pretty easy to make power and parts availability is good but come on man. Ford Quality is just top notch.
